- Martina D4 contributionsAmazing inside- must be seen if in the town. From outside it is also beautiful with views of the river Shannon alongside. The Castle from the 12th Century is across the road. Be sure to take 10 mins to go inside. An easy walking path that is 99% flat.
some of the areas of the walk were closed and no proper signage was put in place to know it. The gallery features different local artists and is well worth a visit. Some beautiful thought provoking pieces on display.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Athlone is an interesting city. Others thing to see. - GrandTour144729808201 contributionAwesome little pub full of life and a vibrant buzz from the locals music wasn’t to loud a great place to meet have for drinks with a side of banter !! Lots of little nooks and cranny’s plenty of seating with interesting decoration and antiques. - tpdublin36 contributionsJust back from a really fantastic afternoon and evening spent in the snug. Gillian, Michael and Dermot were so kind and helpful for any of the needs of the group. We had a hen party and had a wonderful area out in the beer garden to host our games. Later we had a room upstairs which was also fantastic. Great selection of craft and regular beers, chilled out and friendly vibe and staff were very friendly and engaging. There was a band setting up so we did not stay around for that, just not my thing.
