Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Brian TWaterford, Ireland12 contributionsCan’t praise this place highly enough. As a family with zero experience of horse riding we were nervous. 2 adults with 10 & 6 yr olds . Beautiful treck with great scenery but the staff are the real highlight. So attentive and caring towards the horses , chatted to our kids all the way round . So glad we did this . Any family looking for something to do together will not be disappointed.Written 25 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Subhasree RDublin, Ireland10 contributionsA lovely walk that has a combination of river, canal and meadow walks.
An easy walking path that is 99% flat.
some of the areas of the walk were closed and no proper signage was put in place to know it. So bear in mind you might end up walking back in the same path rather than finishing the loop.Written 13 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They were a pleasure to deal with and also very competitive when it came to green fees.

Winds made some of the par 4s very long and frankly some of the down wind a lot easier. Nice track. - Lee L1 contributionFor me this was a recharge. I needed to slow down and relax and enjoy the moment. This boat ride brought that and more. I listened to the hum of the engine and the splash of the water. The scenery is great the staff is better. It’s real easy, find a spot, sit down, and watch the scenery go byWritten 27 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter LDublin, Ireland12 contributionsBooked a boat for a day 10am to 6pm with these guys.
2 adults and 2 children (5 and 2).
From start to finish it was flawless. Unfortunately due to bad weather we had to push back by a week. Boat and times discussed over phone and we gave a deposit.
Arrived at 1030 and we were swiftly showen what to do and where to go. Life jackets on and we were brought to the boat for a talk through. We hit the water at 11am with a picnic in tow.
Went as far as the hodson bay for coffee and then on to athlone and back to cosson point for an hour to let the kids into the playground. When we got back we took a spin around the inner lakes. Boat back to marina at 520pm and we were sorted with the fuel bill (approx 30 euro) and in the car by 530 or so. Free on site parking too.
Absolutely fantastic day out, highly recommend it and we will be returning.

Both Tom and Shane were more than helpful and nothing was too much bother for them.
The boats for hire are old but very well looked-after. They are perfect for a week on the Shannon and it's lakes. Anyone that we met had nothing but praise for the boat and it is so steady when getting on or off. The boats are great in the water, very little movement even on a fairly rough Lough Derg. We had a wonderful week cruising up and down the Shannon and we will be back. We couldn't fault the boat except for the possible need for a regular electricity outlet. Apart from that we loved it.Written 13 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Rob is an excellent instructor and he has fascinating stories about his military missions outside of Ireland. The activities we did included: Camouflage and Concealment, Map Reading, Orienteering, Archery, Shooting practice (air rifle), Nerf gun fun fight, Forest hike and Survival lecture - a fun packed morning that our teenage boys quite enjoyed!
Rob is passionate about teaching survival skills and we were impressed by everything he had inside his bag!
I highly recommend this unique experience that suits young children, teenagers and adults. It is a fantastic outdoor activity and it is a great way to spend time away from screens.Written 13 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
