Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I'm a bit wary about writing reviews about gems like this. We had a great time wandering the island, and wished we'd had more time. But the more people that know about it, the bigger the chances of negative development. We walked the Sherkin 5 Blue trail and really enjoyed the Cow and Silver Strands beaches! The weather was perfect, and the views great. Totally worth the trip from Cork to see it

Great view if you don't mind a very short 5 minute steep climb up the hill, you can drive up most of the way. The Sherkin island lighthouse is visible across from the beacon.

Nice stop to see some local history in this restored castle. This stop is more about the history and the views from the top than from seeing what most think of as a traditional castle. There are storyboard timelines of history from that spot and some relics from times past.

A visit to the gardens would not be complete without stopping off at the quirky little cafe with a gorgeous outdoor eating area. The coffee is good and the pancakes delicious. On a second visit a few days later I had the most yummy chocolate cake. A must if you’re in the Baltimore area!

Good pool - it's a little expensive, but decent facilities and a nice swim. Never too crowded, and helpful staff any time I've gone there.

Tráigh na Móna or Trag as it is normally shorten to, is a great spot for a dip and there is normally a lifeguard on duty during the summer months.

We love to visit this beautiful beach when we are in West Cork. There is parking for about 5 or 6 cars and it is normally fairly quiet.

Weekend nights in Baltimore resemble the worst of Temple Bar in Dublin and then its closed for most of the remainder of week at least it was in June, such a disappointment as we used love this place

What a lovely evening experience with Michael showing us hidden gems around the harbour and the coast. Lucky to see seals and dolphins and zip around in a huge rib / exhilarating and fab

One of the best wildlife watching trips we’ve done. We were very impressed at the way Nic explained the safety features on the boat. We were lucky with the weather, and Nic explained something of the history of Baltimore as we went out of the harbour. We were encouraged to ask questions and he told us about the species we saw (Atlantic grey seals, common dolphins and minke whales as well as a variety of seabirds). The loos on the boat were clean and we were all given life jackets. It was also good to have a stop on Cape Clear Island for a stretch and refreshments, at €55 for a 5-hour trip it was excellent value for money. Very highly recommended.
