Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- AlbertSalichsManresa, Spain23,886 contributionsBantry House & Garden is located in Bant y Bay, in Southwestern Ireland. Nowadays, it is a private house, which is possible to visit and a part is reconverted in a hotel. We visited the house and the gardens last October and really it was wonderful. The rooms of the house are very interesting and you can learn about the history, the owner's family and the house. For me, the best part is walking around the gardens, from where you can see probably the best views of the bay and the house. Also, you can find some ruins in the garden, while you walk and relax there. Great photos! - Joan F18 contributionsWhiddy Island is well worth a visit. Short trip on the ferry with a very friendly boatman. Great views back over Bantry on a clear day. Easy walk (maybe 10k in total?) around the island and it is very well signposted and has stiles for access. There are also information boards to tell you what to look out for etc. We had a sandwich and cuppa in the bar before leaving the island, the lady working there is a great hostess!Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - louCorkMidleton, Ireland927 contributionsI read all about these stones and how hard they were to find but low and behold we were passing through Kealkill and saw the signs , followed them up a steep climb , very awkward to park there We climbed the stile and made our way to the stones , but the ground under foot was very wet and we didn't come prepared with wellington so we turned back . - annie199Cork, Ireland83 contributionsI have always borrowed books from Bantry Library and enjoyed the helpful way in which the staff have always tracked down books for me. During the lockdown I discovered Borrow Box, an online service whereby both audio and reading books can be downloaded. There are numerous articles, journals and books which can be enjoyedon a tablet. A great service!Written 28 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
