What travellers are saying
- JeniringBerlin, Germany1 contributionWe spent a fabulous hour and a half with Ziggy today making candles with our two daughters, 7 and 9. Ziggy is a really calm, friendly, fun teacher and we came away with 4 candles each. He even gave my daughter a present of a candle when one of hers didn't work out the way she wanted. It was so much fun, I would highly recommend this for a rainy day or any day. Ring in advance to book but the day before would probably be fine. Great value and it all happens at his really beautiful cottage farm a walk away from the village of Sneem.Written 9 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dell KCork, Ireland311 contributionsShort beautiful walks just around the small village in Sneem and the kids loved it! They loved running around the pyramids and checking inside (nothing special inside but still a lot of fun).Written 31 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Frank BDublin, Ireland64 contributionsThe Muller family have run this studio for as long as I can remember and there is a wide selection of artwork to view and buy. You can also look at the wonderful hand-built boats (some of which are work in progress). You always feel that you are welcome, even if you only there just look around.Written 7 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jot129Kent, UK6 contributionsTake a tour with Ribtrips and ask if Lucy, the marine biologist is available to accompany you. It's a wild ride, but safe enough for the over 50s. Not for little ones. Dolphins swam alongside, we explored the calf, cow and bull rocks as well as some caves. Fabulous.Written 23 August 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jacqueline RCork, Cork, Ireland497 contributionsSneem is a beautiful village with lots of unexpected finds.
Personally I had been unaware of De Gaulle’s connection with Sneem so I was quite intrigued when I discovered this memorial.
The quote, in French, is very touching & the translation is provided.
Worth visiting while strolling through this picturesque village.Written 11 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ray BDublin, Ireland76 contributionsI was delighted to come across the statue to John Egan. Even though he broke many Dublin hearts, one could not fail to acknowledge this terrific Kerry footballer.Written 27 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jer bBristol, CT1,855 contributionsThis is a memorial to the late president of Ireland, Cearbhall O'Dalaigh, a name I am not sure how to pronounce. It is located on the square and consists of some metal pieces painted white. I would describe it as very modern and very abstract and located in a village that looks more fanciful and colorful. Evidently, Mr. O'Dalaigh retire here, died here and is buried here. I am just not a great fan of this kind of modern, metal, abstract art.Written 13 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Wind GStorm Lake, Iowa, United States2 contributionsI am a university professor who brought 11 students for a two-week course on storytelling and photography. Gerrit helped us plan all of the locations, including many all over the country (both Ireland and Northern Ireland). He drove us throughout the trip and was polite, knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. He also helped us save time and money by suggesting things like a sandwich picnic in beautiful locations, which the students loved. Really this was a fantastic experience, and we'll use Gerrit and Ester every time we're in Ireland.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Caroline RDublin, Ireland1 contributionMy partner and I booked the kayaking tour with Noel. The tour was absolutely spectacular, the views were amazing also. We got to see some seals which we enjoyed.
Noel was a great guide and we would highly recommend this experience.Written 20 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - iduapCork, Ireland294 contributionsWe did the Derrynane Mass path walk recently and really enjoyed it. We started from the (Free) car park near Derrynane House and walked along the dunes behind the beach. It was a lovely day and the view over the beach to Abbey Island was great.
Once you go past the beach the walk goes through woods and then over rocks to a nearby pier before it goes uphill to give better and better views of the sea. We extended the walk beyond the Mass path by following the part of the Kerry way that passed a lovely waterfall.
We joined the road from Caherdaniel to Derrynane and finished the walk by following the seaside nature trail along the dunes to the east of the House and paddling in the surprisingly warm sea.
The walk took around 2.5 hours and we really enjoyed it.Written 2 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
