Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely beautiful, a lovely place to visit. A short walk up to the waterfall. Plenty of parking. Also a decent cafe and gift shop. Well worth a visit

Excellent visit rich with history, knowledgeable guides. Incredible time learning about the 16th century O’Rourke round tower ruins in the center of the castle.

This is a really special place! We were impressed by the overall beauty of the facility (we did not take a tour). Jake at the bar in the solarium served us first a tasting on the distillery's four gins, after which he recommend a pineapple cocktail that is to-die-for! We enjoyed it so much that we bought 3 bottles of the Pineapple Gin in the gift shop, then another 3 bottles at the duty-free shop in the airport!
It was a terrifically beautiful and sunny day, so we grabbed lunch in the Jackalope Cafe and ate at the picnic tables. From the cocktails and the sun to the abundant greenery and the laid-back vibe, it felt like we were on a tropical vacation! One of my sisters said she lived there so she could work at this distillery because it's such a cool place!

Well worth a visit. It is amazing to think this fine building has survived for centuries.
There is an excellent explanation of the Friary, which highlights the location and history.

I pretend this is Irelands Romeo & Juliet. Squeezed between two pubs..Flynns and Armstrongs ( although Armstrongs are either under-going remodelling ).

As I had small children and a dog with me I was unbale to venture beyond the craft shop and cafe which were all laid out in a very inviting style. The staff were very friendly and helpfu. I understand it hosts a theatre and art gallery and must be a welcome addition to the residents of Carrick

If your interested in our history then you have to search out Corracloona megalithic tomb. It was built hundreds of years ago but impressive.

This was a fascinating and unique tourist experience. The story behind each door and townland, interestingly narrated by a local, is great.
Basically, you go to each door in various parts of the county, dial a number, and the story of that location unfolds.
I visited the Aughadrumcairn door, and the storyteller was very insightful. It's amazing to hear the history of this townland, which is often overlooked by most.
If you head, be quick as the experience is due to finish at the end of November. Bring some good boots or wellies too.
I wish it was around for longer to uncover the stories of other townlands.

Just surreal to see that this old workhouse is still in use as a hospital. The top floor is open to visitors and there are informative displays and a video to watch.

Lovely off road cycle ideal for kids. The bikes were in perfect condition. The only down side was the lack of open cafes/restaurants at the end of the cycle for refreshments but this was obviously not the fault of the bike hire company

I have visited the Aura swimming pool on many occasions as well as swimming lessons for my children. Reasonably priced, reduction to swimming when getting lessons in the centre. I have always found the staff and swimming instructors to be excellent and always polite and friendly. Really nice atmosphere for both adults and children. Pool suitable for all ages from toddler upwards.
