Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Morobins5Toronto, Canada19 contributionsHidden gem in Kinsale. Didn’t do a tour but had a lovely mead tasting session. The tasting host was very knowledgable and entertaining. The various meads were delicious. They have developed some great recipes for cocktails as well. We brought home a bottle of hazy summer mead and enjoyed it with some crema on the patio yesterday. Lovely.Written 14 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hannah H30 contributionsWe visited here on a family trip to Dublin. It’s a great museum, very informative, and the memorial is beautiful! Definitely recommend! There is no lift, so if you are not able to climb stairs you won’t be able to see the entire museum / views.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TLC2 contributionsMy significant other and I came through Kinsale on one of the Gate 1 tours in September. We really enjoyed the tour and ended up purchasing Barry's book.
In the past when we have purchased books on our travels, they have largely gone unread. Maybe browsed through, but unread.
But I am writing to tell you that we read every page of Barry's book on the history of Kinsale and thoroughly enjoyed it. On two car trips, I took your book along, and I read the book aloud as my partner drove. I personally chuckled at the tales of Anne Bonny (what a gal!). We had no idea that Kinsale has such a rich and interesting background.
Thanks for such an interesting book and for your fun tour experience.Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We came with a group of 30 people, and Suzanne organized two private tours for our group. We had a wonderful time, and, because we were a private tour, I was very impressed by how her food partners handled everyone’s allergy requests (we had four different allergies). That isn’t easy, but every venue managed it with grace and kindness. The food itself was delicious at every stop. We had many foodies in our group, and to a person, everyone loved the offerings. Kinsale itself is charming with a breathtaking location on the harbor.
Adrian was a wonderful guide for our morning group. Please let him know how appreciative we are for his knowledge of Kinsale history, its food, and his great humor. Suzanne took the later group. All of them sang her praises. Her sense of humor was hugely enjoyed.
As our organizer, I was especially grateful to Suzanne, and how she handled our unwieldy gang with professionalism, allowing us to enjoy Kinsale, its fascinating history, and its legendary cuisine. I can say that no one left hungry.
Again, thank you for making our time in Kinsale fun and enlightening - a feast for the body and mind.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A word of caution though, if you have any issues walking or going up and down hills. Do not take this tour. There were a few people that I guess had knee problems and they were miserable about half way through. And it’s Kinsale at night..you can’t just leave the tour and call an Uber. And a good portion of the tour is away from the area where restaurants and pubs are so you can’t just leave and duck into a pub for a while. You have no choice but to finish the walk.Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Charles W11 contributionsGREAT views on ride! Ruth the guide was fun and friendly. Saw so much more than, if we walked. John picked us up at the Dublin airport and stayed with us for 12 of those days - 3 generations, my mom, my daughter and myself went around the entire Island with John and we all loved him and Ireland - Belfast, Derry, Donegal, Westport, Galway, Ennis, Dingle, Kinsale and back to Dublin. We saw everything we wanted to see and more!
Thank you John for making our trip so amazing. It was great getting to know you personally as well as learn all about your Country. John was there for us every step of the way from making reservation to picking up my moms hat off the street. He has eyes in the back of his head and aways knew where to be and when. We never had to wonder where to find him. Excellent communication and always prompt. Knowledgeable about Irish history, good with directions and has a great sense of humor. Offered restaurant recommendations and pubs across all of Ireland!
And a safe, courteous driver! Highly recommend.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A must do. The cliffs are amazing to see from the water and the ride to and from is a blast. Add this to your Kinsale itinerary!Written 21 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
