Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you visit Kinsale, the Kinsale Mead Company is a must-do. The tour starts out with a fascinating history of mead, then a walk through of the distilling process and finally a tasting. You can buy several varieties of mead as well as the honey it’s made from.

Even on a stormy day, this is an interesting place to visit. This was not here when I was here in 2002. It is a very needed addition to the area. It allows for views of the unique peninsula of Old Head and gives information on the important historical event of the sinking of the Lusitania. The road to it is a bit narrow, but many roads in Ireland have the same challenge! It is a small museum, but worth the visit.

Truly, the most beautiful golf course I’ve ever seen or played. Blew my mind, and that was playing 6 holes in the fog!! Brian my caddie was a joy to be with and the vibes could not have been better. Do yourself a favor and eat the sausage wrap at the turn. The overall experience is 10/10. From the clubhouse, to the Proshop, and of course THAT golf course. Worth every penny.

So sorry to hear you are closed for the season but...
I was able to order Blacks in the restaurants around town. Also found in the grocery stores. So not all was lost. Great beers and the tour is a reason to comeback to Kinsale next year! Keep up the amazing work.

As Rick Steves book says, Barry's Historic stroll is "The single best attraction in Kinsale." Barry was witty, charming, and all around delightfully entertaining as he fascinated us with centuries of information, pirates and smugglers included. I inadvertently dropped 140 Euros after paying him. He asked a nearby shop owner to replay his security camera footage and saw that it was the gray bearded man in the wide brimmed, white hat with the woman in an orange coat. He put out a notice on the Kinsale social media to find us. Several people notified him as we went into shops but we left too quickly. That evening, the hostess in Katie O"Seas restaurant handed me a phone saying Barry Maloney for you. The next morning, we said, "Barry, You keep half for your kindness and effort." When he refused, we said, "What about a charity." He said, "It's destiny!! and pointed to two grade school boys collecting donations for Cancer Research." We are amazed at his and the people of Kinsale's kindness and wish to thank them. Bernard "Rusty" and Nancy Sullivan, Leawood, Kansas USA

Had the pleasure of having both Suzanne and Siobhan as my guides. Perfect mix of the history of Kinsale, local knowledge and excellent food. Perfect way to meet new people.

Dermot Ryan led our fabulous walk around Kinsale, pointing out the sights and providing the detailed history. A must do if you're ever in Kinsale. Easy walk, very enlightening, meet at tour office and walk and talk the streets! Fantastic!

Overall a great experience. Ruth was amazing - very helpful and extremely responsive - and she went out of her way to assist us. We rented bikes and cycled up the west coast eventually ending up in Galway, where she fetched the bikes. Prices were reasonable and the bikes were in good condition - we had just the one minor technical issue the whole time we were away. I highly recommend her company !

Our family took a 10-day private tour of Ireland with Wild Way Tours in February of 2024. It was absolutely incredible and exceeded my every expectation! John, our guide, thought of everything for us. His hotel recommendations were fantastic in helping us book our trip, and he was an expert about gauging what we were interested in and would like to do. On our first day, he even was able to make an impromptu stop at the Irish National Stud Farm when he found out I was a horseback rider! John is also incredibly knowledgeable about Irish history, local restaurants, points of interest, etc., so no matter what you're travel style is and what you want to see, I think you will be impressed if you're looking for a private tour of Ireland!

This 50+ minute trip around the coast of this large natural inlet of a harbour viewing the shore line and other boats on the water.
The skipper is an historian and author of this area of Ireland and is consequently very well informed. The boat has lots of comfortable seats inside and benches in the top deck. There is a bar selling wines, beers, soft drinks and nibbles to keep you going.
During the cruise at appropriate points a pre-recorded commentary announced very informative aspects regarding history of buildings forts and other interesting features.
So an erudite and enjoyable trip.
Its very reasonably priced and I thoroughly recommend it
