Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Morobins5Toronto, Canada19 contributionsHidden gem in Kinsale. Didn’t do a tour but had a lovely mead tasting session. The tasting host was very knowledgable and entertaining. The various meads were delicious. They have developed some great recipes for cocktails as well. We brought home a bottle of hazy summer mead and enjoyed it with some crema on the patio yesterday. Lovely.Written 14 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Stuart-HerrittyBirmingham, UK273 contributionsOutstandingly the best restaurant out of three nights we spent in Kinsale. The range on the menu was select but broad. Options on the menu for all tastes. Our waiter’s recommendations were on point and the atmosphere wonderful. 100% worth bookingWritten 13 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary P3 contributionsIt was not a selection in the dropdown, but we did the Walking Food Tour of Kinsale. We came with a group of 30 people, and Suzanne organized two private tours for our group. We had a wonderful time, and, because we were a private tour, I was very impressed by how her food partners handled everyone’s allergy requests (we had four different allergies). That isn’t easy, but every venue managed it with grace and kindness. The food itself was delicious at every stop. We had many foodies in our group, and to a person, everyone loved the offerings. Kinsale itself is charming with a breathtaking location on the harbor.
Adrian was a wonderful guide for our morning group. Please let him know how appreciative we are for his knowledge of Kinsale history, its food, and his great humor. Suzanne took the later group. All of them sang her praises. Her sense of humor was hugely enjoyed.
As our organizer, I was especially grateful to Suzanne, and how she handled our unwieldy gang with professionalism, allowing us to enjoy Kinsale, its fascinating history, and its legendary cuisine. I can say that no one left hungry.
Again, thank you for making our time in Kinsale fun and enlightening - a feast for the body and mind.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This tour was filled with delicious food and history with a very personal and local touch. Even walking by things that seem ordinary, I was touched to learn the history behind each area of the City we touched. Thank you for being so welcome and engaging with my Teens, it is an experience I will truly never forget!Written 6 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lmahoneynhBluffton, SC10 contributionsWe had a nice tour with Nick and sampled some very good whiskeys. Nice patio and bar and friendly people. Nick gave a nice talk about the surrounding area and history of Kinsale. Well worth the visit.Written 28 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kiara D1 contributionWe decided to work with Celeste, Dave and the team at spoon and scallop for a dinner party for a special occasion at our home and it was just perfect. We worked with Celeste in advance to find the right menu. From innovative and exciting to comfort food (with a flare), whatever we wanted was possible. The food we chose was executed perfectly and tasted extremely good! Our whole group was delighted with the food. The team on the night were impeccable, friendly, informative and sound! We really enjoyed having Spoon and Scallop at our home and cannot wait for another excuse to need this wonderful service again!!Written 29 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
