Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- LaurakgrMount Desert, ME22 contributionsWe were not expecting to have such high quality food at this pub. We came in when they opened for lunch, enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited for a table. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were expecting standard pub food but were pleasantly surprised to have one of the best meals that we had during our visit to Ireland. The prices are higher than a typical pub but the food is really high quality. If the mussels with nduja broth are on the menu - do not miss them!Written 9 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David CWeaverville, NC454 contributionsGreat traditional session when we were there. We got a table with a local and outlasted him to close it down! Find out when they have a session night and go!Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- pfefmeisterSan Francisco, CA4,373 contributionsWe stumbled upon this pub just off the main drag, and were rewarded with a bustling scene of happy folks overflowing unto the outdoor patio out front. Fun time, alas, no food.Written 13 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DanielCincinnati, OH284 contributionsStandard Irish pub meeting all the expectations. There are plenty of tables in the side room or towards the back. Bar service is fast. They poured me a Shamrock Guinness which I heard was a bit of a tourist thing but the place was filled with locals.Written 22 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RoadWarrier99999Isle of Palms, SC524 contributionsDropped in for a pint after a drive from Dublin. We appreciated the chance to dip into a nice local pub and avoid the bus trip folks. A couple of nicely built Guinness’s for my sons and me, a reasonable chardonnnay for my bride and we left refreshed.
Highly recommended.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We just wanted a drink and our tour guide suggested the pub as one serving a good pint of the local brew Beamish. We hadn't made any table reservations and the pub was busy but a member of staff told us there was a table for two available in the rear beer garden so we stayed and enjoyed a drink.
We found the pub a little quirky with posters and knickknacks on display and an interesting collection of pictures and artefacts linked to the 911 attacks on display near the toilets. We didn't eat here so cannot review the catering but it was a lovely stop with a good pint and the staff were really helpful and friendly.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
