What travellers are saying
- TwinmaAFGreystones, Ireland138 contributionsIf you like Donkeys, this is the place for you! I absolutely loved it. Entry is free, but you can (and you should!) make a donation towards the expensive care given to these gorgeous animals. The shop also sells donkey-themed gift items at very reasonable prices. And if you wish, you can adopt a donkey. The grounds are laid out so that you can do as much or as little walking as you choose, and the donkeys are in fields spread over a fairly large area. Some will come over for a little pet, while others are busy doing their own thing. The slightly older ones - Ducky, Dusty and Brenda were very friendly. I'm looking forward to visiting again!Written 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- GeraldineCork, Ireland1,752 contributionsThankfully within our 5km (!) we finally got to visit Mallow Castle & River walk. It's a lovely pitstop and I highly recommend it on a nice day 😀Written 31 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sharon LSouthampton, New York35 contributionsMy favourite part is interaction with the 'Bookies'. I am from Mallow but live in the US and there are no such thing in the USA. Also the quality of the horses, trainers and jockeys are outstanding. There are multiple areas to watch from and the excitement is always amazing. Always a great day or evening out and encompasses all ages. A great date night/afternoon, family event or friend time. Also can't fault the chips and ice cream..Written 26 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Chelsea AColumbus, OH174 contributionsAbsolutely beautiful! We weren’t sure what we would find with it being out of the way but it was so worth it! A very large priory with good signage and a lot of buildings/walls intact. Quite magical with wildflowers growing within the ruins and very peaceful as well. Would definitely recommend stopping!Written 29 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Nancy LOrlando, FL6,188 contributionsThis was a great stop we just happened on. You can wander all around. No charge to get in. Still fairly intact.Written 2 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lola MDublin, Ireland4 contributionsExcellence staff, clean and friendly. Kids had a ball. Separate section for younger kids. Bright and colorful party room.Written 7 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Anne DoranCork, Ireland345 contributionsWe were passing this house on the way back to Cork from Castletownroche and found this amazing house on the Spa Walk. It's a pity to see it boarded up and not being used. I hope that this can remain to be some place to be visited in the future. There is a small car park nearby.Written 14 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Gobnait o lunacyDublin, Ireland35 contributionsNice piece of architecture, unfortunately surrounded by a half derelict dump of a town. You can't go into it or anything, what's the point?Written 14 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JB999_13Whangarei Heads, New Zealand86 contributionsWe visited the bog on the weekend during summer. It is set up for bird watching with a large hide overlooking the pond and Kilcolman bog. As it was summer when we visited there weren't many birds (mostly greylags, mallards, swallows, swans, grebes, moorhens and other common summer passerines).
We had a good chat with the resident ranger, Mike Hirst (Phone 086 319 7971), who told us about all the different wildfowl that flock to the bog in winter. The refuge is privately owned so it is best if you call Mike to let him know you're coming.
The reserve is small and apart from the bird hide, there is no where else to walk so it's really for bird watchers only. Being avid birders we'll definatley be back in winter!Written 31 May 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Lyssa DOrange County, CA69 contributionsMy family left Mallow in 1825. We revisited this town to see if we could learn additional information. It is a working town and is only 20 mins from Blarney Castle. The train is down main street and is flanked by a few statues where it ends on bridge street.Written 14 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RP-NetherlandsWemeldinge, The Netherlands1,144 contributionsNothing ever changes in the olde fiddle and that's a good thing. This is a classic and the moment you set foot in the door you go back in time. The atmosphere is always good in this small pub, and the only thing that changes are the visitors. Treat yourself to a drink in
a charming old world atmosphere at the olde fiddle!Written 3 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Amy MDublin, Ireland13 contributionsI booked the stable area for a hen party on a busy Saturday night and we had an absolutely great time! The staff had decorated the area for us and even gave us table service! The cocktail list was extensive and they were delicious! The pub is a lot bigger than I expected from the outside and everyone in our group had a fantastic time! highly recommended and will be returningWritten 3 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Eileen1 contributionWe were there to vist the resting place of the legend Oliver Reed and to vist his local where we were greeted by the lovely Mary. Great bar and lovely people. No wonder he called it his second home. Will be back.Written 20 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
