Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Marian H1 contributionWe had the most amazing trip, with Michael and Blacksod Sea Safari, with a very unique view, from the sea of the four lighthouses of Erris. We had fantastic views of the The Mullet Peninsula and islands, en route, and even had tea/coffee and cake on board. Don't miss a chance to take this wonderful tour. Many thanks to Michael and his team for a truly incredible experience.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Loverireland2 contributionsMyself, husband and our 3 kid went on this trip last September. We still think back back to that day. The white sands of the Inishkeas and the turquoise waters were just breathtaking but being taken there by descendants made it extra special.
My daughter and I walked to the signal tower at the top of Alt mor while my husband and 2 sons took the guided tour with Kea, who had a vast knowledge of the area and in particular of the Inishkeas. We then enjoyed a dip in the (very cold!) sea and picnic by the pier. We all agreed that a return journey is a must and when we do it will be with Belmullet Boat Charters

Our 10 year old was off in her own kayak taking it all in her stride. Our 8 year old and 5 year olds chose to sit in our canoes and loved every minute.
Seimi our guide was great at bringing the kids out of their shells and giving them confidence to jump in rock pools and jump out of their kayak to swim in the bay by the end of the session.
The bay/cove although on the Atlantic coast is sheltered so you can experience the wild waves from a gentle sheltered safe place.
The bay has really clear water and our guide could tell us about its unique animals and seaweeds.
Great family activity.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Neal was great though out explaining the countryside, the country and at our request details of Irish history. We highly recommend Neal!Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gordon S2 contributionsMy wife and I did the Achill Island tour. Neal delivered a first class tour; he had a wealth of information about every site we passed or stopped at, he was entertaining, engaging and flexible. Of the ten days we spent in Ireland, Neal's tour was far and away the best. A definite 10 out of 10.Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marc PBerlin, Germany1 contributionReinier (the teacher) was a great guy but seemed more interested in looking at the other kitesurfers than teaching us. A zero to hero course goes by very quickly. He cancelled our last lesson 2 days in a row for bad wind conditions and which we unfortunately never got our full refund on (found some great excuses not to - such as extra costs for driving us to a surfing spot). Overall not a great experience with this school. I would sincerely consider going somewhere else.
It's a hard sport to start but one can learn within a week with the right weather conditions, still think the sport is worth a try.Written 15 December 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Their instructor was brilliant and they made great progress in their first lesson. The cross lake is a beautiful and ideal spot for the paddle boarding and if we’d had time we definitely would have booked a kitesurfing lesson as it looked amazing. They managed to fit us in for a lesson at the last minute too. This is an experience not to be missed! 😊Written 8 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
