My husband and I did a 5 day hiking trip with Beyond the Glass. The excursion was well-coordinated, the selected lodging was great, background/historical information was insightful, and we felt like we got a "behind the scenes" look of South-Central and South-Western Ireland.
The hikes are for those of above-average fitness levels. (I swim, run, bike, and lift weights regularly and was challenged at times). Hiking times ranged from 3 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours long (I skipped the 6 1/2 hour hike up and down Ireland's highest peak as I needed a rest day after the first two hikes). Some days it rained/misted the whole time and some hikes include rock scrambling up/down steep descents. That said, I would recommend this trip to those who love a physical challenge.
What I liked most about the trip was the variety of scenery and experiences. James, our guide, really wanted us to experience the outdoors of Ireland from different vantage points.
