- Scott G4 contributionsHighly recommend a visit to Holden Leather Goods if you are in the Dingle area. Products are made on-sight and are high-quality and beautiful. My wife had been searching for a bag for over a year including in France and couldn't find what she was looking for until she found it at Holden. Conor, the owner, is engaging and happily answers questions on how his products are made, the source of the leather, the tanning process etc. All of his products are coloured using natural vegetal dyes. Stopping in by chance at Holden (we saw the sign at the side of road) made a happy start to our day-trip around the Dingle Peninsula and was an experience in and of itself. We traveled throughout Ireland, and these cheeses were the best! Can't go wrong. Patient woman walked us through our cheese questions and had wonderful stories. I noticed the large selection of Glen Hansard CDs, whose work I like, but based on only a few songs I'd heard. I explained what I liked about his music and asked about which of his CDs might be the best match for me. I was pointed toward "The Cost" by his band the Frames, and that has turned out to be a very good recommendation! They had authentic hand made soaps, candles, headbands, jewelry, clothes, hats, purses, etc. A variety of items to purchase as gifts for others. I bought a beautiful sundress and headband that will always remind me of our trip to Dingle. - Brittany D2 contributionsDingle overall was such a lovely town. One of my purchases was going to be a wool sweater. After searching in various places, the Dingle Woolen Company was my choice. Fair pricing, great quality and the style choices I was looking for. They also ship to the US for a reasonable rate compared to other locations. It arrived by the time my trip concluded. I was looking for something made from wool and found some cards w a sunflower and sheep an the front of them. They are a great find! The sunflower and sheep are about 3 inches tall. Every year we visit Dingle I make sure I take along an empty carry-on, so I can stuff it with as many of her pottery items as I can! If I had my way, I would use nothing but her pottery in our home.
We've also ordered from her website and had items shipped to our home in Pennsylvania. They always arrive perfectly packaged and damage free.
