Absolutely one of the best experiences in Ireland!
Great history beautifully told by Stephen and his family PLUS great exhibits, farm experience, local knitwear and crafts but most of all a genuine warm welcome from the whole family.

Myself and my son hiked across the route a few months back . Its an unspoilt area with some rugged terrain , but mostly pretty good under foot . The weather can be quite different higher up and its exposed so prepare well , its a number of hours to complete .

A beautiful fern garden in a magnificent setting. Nice cafe and open air eating space. Entrance fee is somewhat pricey at Euro 14.50 per head. Overall a nice place to spend an hour walking through the gardens.

the conservation area is promoting wild life including horseshoe bats the paths are kept by Kerry county council. there is a boat house path and two other paths and also adopt a tree. Being on the tidal kenmare river it has seaweed and mud flats for sea birds.

Very interesting to see the size of the boulders and wonder how they could have been moved without the use of modern-day machines!

This was as great little spot to check out. I walked by it on my way into town. The bridge is pretty neat. There is also a walking path near it. I didn't have the time to see where it went, but I will definitely stop again the next time I'm in Kenmare. It was a great town and I'm looking forward to going back next year.

Beautiful scenery. Lovely artist with amazing works of art. Road is very narrow going up and we felt like are we going the wrong way. We were definitely delighted that we continued and didn't turn around. We got a personal tour around think everyone does. Will explain all about the art works and ans questions. Only thing I wished I knew before hand was that we could have booked accommodation there. Think will definitely have to stay if down that way again a little piece of heaven.

My adult daughter & I did a Night Trip last week with guide Eamon (and help from Anna & Niamh), and it was one of the highlights of our 12 days in Ireland. Beautiful & calm, with stories, folklore, jokes, history and nature. They provided everything we needed to remain warm and dry, and explained everything as we went. My daughter is not always comfortable in a kayak, and she admitted that she loved it! I truly cannot recommend Emerald Outdoors enough!

My husband and I loved touring the Ring of Beara with Paul! We had a car on our trip, but were hesitant to drive the Ring ourselves due to narrow roads. Paul was top notch in every way. First, it is always a bit uncertain spending a full day with a guide, but Paul was so easy to be with -- friendly, knowledgeable, easy-going, and just an absolute gentleman. My only regret is that we didn't book him for our Dingle tour.

Paul is a gem. Grab his booking if he is free. You won't regret it. Thank you Paul!

We had a wonderful trip with Ray and he crew today. Although it was very cold at sea, Ray kept the guests in good spirits with his mix of songs, jokes and language skills! Alex brewed the tea and coffee and with a shot of Sea Dog rum everyone was nice and warm and enjoying the views. Never has tea/coffee and some biscuits tasted so goods. Rusty the gorgeous red setter pub kept also added to the enjoyment.

The highlight of the trip was the pair of young sea eagles who flew from island to island as we sailed past. Flying right alongside the boat at one point with identification marks visible.

Incredible value for money for a family of four.

Get out this week if you are in Kenmare as Ray wraps up for 2019 this week. Wrap up well and you are in for treat.

    Hello everyone!

We had the chance of doing both a farm ride and a horse trek over Easter holidays 2022 at the Dromquinna Stables in Kenmare and both were amazing experiences we would 100% recommend!

First of all, the owners are very kind and friendly (and funny !) and will put anyone at ease. Secondly, the stables are immaculate, the animals are very well looked after, and everything (I mean, everything!) is so well organized! Overall: By spending a bit of time there you can really tell just how much hard work and love the owners put into their stables and all their animals, it is truly admirable.

Before the farm ride or the horse trek, you do a tour around an arena, and they make sure you know how to steer (all the while having fun!) and make sure you are comfortable before going out on the ride / trek.

The Dromquinna Stables are located in the beautiful Kenmare bay area … we fell in love with this location for sure. We had already walked a lot along the shores and around the area, but the Dromquinna Stables horse trek took us to new heights and the view from up there was spectacular and unforgettable.

Xenia and Michael kept us all safe the whole time, reminding us to lean forward/ back when needed, made sure we were all holding the reins correctly throughout the rides, and they were both so much fun, and fountains of knowledge on the area and on Irish history! Spending time with them was just as pleasant as the horse-riding itself.

I had not ridden a horse in over ten years, but the little scepticism I had of my ability to stay in one piece went away as soon as Dragon (the horse) started walking. We even trotted a few times and my daughter went galloping in the wild with Xenia (her first time galloping outside an arena!) while we watched them in awe through the beautiful scenery and stunning yellow gorse bushes.

So, if you are in the area, don't miss the Dromquinna Stables! (And if you’re not, it is worth the detour ;) )

    Thank you Xenia and Michael!!

We had a lovely time on our pony trek. Joyce and her son were so helpful and patient with us. As we had little or no experience they were great at showing us all we had to do. They guided 2 ponys each and explained history of our surroundings along the way. The whole experience was a pure delight and we hope to return in the Summer.
