A truly amazing and profound experience. The guide was so knowledgeable and accommodating. It took around and hour and was absolutely fascinating to see and hold artefacts from the period of the castle. I highly recommend visiting.

I'm a fan of writing and writers, and Listowel and the surrounding areas are blessed with many exceptional talents. The museum is well laid out, and provides different ways of connecting with the writers, their writing, and the history of the place. With great use of visual and auditory resources, I particularly enjoyed the rooms at the top of the building, each one dedicated to a particular writer. I left more than satisfied - my expectations were exceeded. The lady who greeted us was really friendly and helpful. If you're in Listowel, make sure you visit here, and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it.

A green and peaceful memorial to the foibles of war. Close to the river and well worth the walk. I even picked up some artisitc ideas for my own garden.

Spent 3 weeks visiting from New York and could not be happier with the gym experience! Staff are friendly and helpful and the users are all friendly and welcoming. The location inside the park just adds to the experience.

Throughout the town of Listowel you can see exterior plaster or stucco work done by local plasterer and artist Pat McAuliffe who lived and worked in the town from 1846 to 1921.

This abbey is remote but in a beautiful location. It is quite unusual. It is a ruin with some interpretation at the entrance. It has an interesting history. Some walls remain but no roof. The footprint is completely filled with grave plots. You need to walk over graves to move around. This is rather weird and unsettling.

Statue situated just beside the town square. It is very famous in Listowel. There is more historical places in Listowel in relation to JB Keane and his literature. Welcome to take pictures.

I believe that this is a pop up card room for listowel races , upon entering one is greeted by two 70-80 year old white haired gentlemen , who will assign you a seat at one of the two tables . Having played in many classic poker rooms , vegas , Atlantic city , Paris , abbeydorney and Barcelona , the decor could at best be described as shabby chic . However this didn't detract from the play . The cards were dealt by a good looking young wan , whose name I believe was breda , whose reading of the table would suggest that she would be skilled in any seat . I'm sure she gets bags of Christmas cards . The action was good on most nights although some of the players might have been ex Wagner .
Amazingly there was a food a beverage operation despite it being a pop up . It was managed by one of the elderly gentlemen . While is table side manner suggested he wasn't classically trained , he made up for it with service , with as much tea or coffee as you liked . He also served food , again his style was very much his own , now I've had jamon bellota , Parma ham , shaved ham etc , but this was served in big chunks served between 2 slices of bread , it was basically the pig without the head and tail and one had the option of coleslaw ala Lidl as well . It was then dissected into two halves , which might not be equal and served with a smile and a napkin .
All in all I couldn't fault oceans , for two auld fellows they did all right , it get five stars from me

I love this little gallery, Olive always makes time to chat about her recent works. Recently I met an American there who was a visiting artist staying with Olive and sharing ideas. A whole new beginning and insight in to other people's work. Great idea. Originals and prints available and something to suit everyone.
