Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at the castle with limited time as we wanted to take the next ferry across the Shannon River.
Without hesitation, Margaret said she would show us around briefly before the next tour. Well, in that brief tour, we learned a lifetime of knowledge from a passionate mentor.
    What a privilege! Very thankful.

I'm a fan of writing and writers, and Listowel and the surrounding areas are blessed with many exceptional talents. The museum is well laid out, and provides different ways of connecting with the writers, their writing, and the history of the place. With great use of visual and auditory resources, I particularly enjoyed the rooms at the top of the building, each one dedicated to a particular writer. I left more than satisfied - my expectations were exceeded. The lady who greeted us was really friendly and helpful. If you're in Listowel, make sure you visit here, and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it.

Throughout the town of Listowel you can see exterior plaster or stucco work done by local plasterer and artist Pat McAuliffe who lived and worked in the town from 1846 to 1921.

A green and peaceful memorial to the foibles of war. Close to the river and well worth the walk. I even picked up some artisitc ideas for my own garden.

Spent 3 weeks visiting from New York and could not be happier with the gym experience! Staff are friendly and helpful and the users are all friendly and welcoming. The location inside the park just adds to the experience.

This is one of the greatest private collections I have EVER seen!

Jim Halpin has done outstanding work, over many years, in putting together this awesome collection which should be on everybody's Must See List.

Well done Jim, we salute you!

This abbey is remote but in a beautiful location. It is quite unusual. It is a ruin with some interpretation at the entrance. It has an interesting history. Some walls remain but no roof. The footprint is completely filled with grave plots. You need to walk over graves to move around. This is rather weird and unsettling.

Billy Keane was delightful. He told stories about his father and life growing up and now operating the family’s pub. There was warmth, humor, nostalgia and some sarcasm about institutions including politicians and the church. Wish I could invite him to dinner to hear more. Looking forward to reading his book.

I love this little gallery, Olive always makes time to chat about her recent works. Recently I met an American there who was a visiting artist staying with Olive and sharing ideas. A whole new beginning and insight in to other people's work. Great idea. Originals and prints available and something to suit everyone.

Statue situated just beside the town square. It is very famous in Listowel. There is more historical places in Listowel in relation to JB Keane and his literature. Welcome to take pictures.
