Dit lag toevallig op onze route dus we wilde hier wel graag even stoppen. Het verhaal achter deze brug werd ons door een vriendin doorgestuurd:

The legend, which tells of the futile efforts of the people of Uri to build a mule track through the narrow Schöllenen Gorge and a stone bridge at the point where the young Reuss river pushes through vertical rock walls, shows how difficult the situation was. In his despair, the "Landammann" (President of town) shouted: "Shall the Devil build a bridge". Then the Devil appeared and said, "I will build a bridge for you. But the first soul to go over it shall be mine".

The people of Uri agreed to the trade and after three days a bridge arched over the Reuss. On the other side the Devil sat and waited for his reward. Instead of a human, however, the people of Uri sent a billy goat over. "You may keep it" they shouted, "here you have the first soul that crosses the bridge!".

Full of anger the Devil tore the billy goat apart and found a huge stone to destroy the bridge again. However an elderly women passed by, recognized him and carved a cross into the stone. When the Devil saw this he missed his target and the stone landed in the valley below, not far from Göschenen where it has been lying ever since.

Great location for those wanting to stay in Andermatt for a reasonable price. It's located a short walk from the Gemsstock lift and nearby shops. The lodge is very nicely furnished with comfortable rooms, a spacious kitchen, living room and sauna. Lars was a brilliant host during our stay, we will definitely be coming back!

Great experience that met þy expectations. Thomas Rich Hallman pontpointed all the details I needed to correct to sharpen to become a better skier. My few next days in Andermatt will be superb because of the lesson I had with Thomas.

It took us about 4 hours from the source of the Rhine to go to the 2'928 metre Piz Badus. After that we went down via the Maighelshütte to Tschamut. Stunning landscapes!

Andermatt is a small ski resort town!
It also is a transiting point to Zermatt!
We arrived a bit early since we have to lighten up our suitcase into a carry on for our two nights at Zermatt!
We walked around the town just to kill some time before our train arrive!
Supposed the ski season ended, this town became so quiet, nearly any tourists but us! It has so many interesting buildings n flags hanging!
The train will carry ya over the mountain into Zermatt, n we will have our dinner onboard!

The Eco Skischule Andermatt took great care of us and our family. The kids learned a lot and had great time and for us adults the brush up was a great start into the skiing holidays. We could pass the queue in the morning and had an effektive and fun day learning. Thanks a lot.

We booked morning classes with Ski Academy Andermatt for my 3 years old son first and then for myself and my husband as well. It has been a great experience! Starting with email communication before booking, Anne answered all my questions and we discussed what would be the best approach for the first training for a young child. Then on the day of training the instructor picked us up at our accommodation at the time we agreed and which suited our morning routine with a toddler. The way to the slope was also a great occasion for our son to get acquainted with the instructor, who was very accomodating and was purposefully adapting the training into our child, his interests, level of tiredness, etc.
The course we took for adults was also great! Well adapted to our needs and the desire to understand the biomechanics of skiing :-)
While our son skied with one trainer, we skied with the other. We were independent, but still nearby or passing each other on the slope. I can surely recommend this set up for parents and young children.
Overall, great experience and I can highly recommend Ski Academy Andermatt!

We cannot praise Pearl Shuttle enough. Like the couple below who had the incident with the broken wrist, we had a nightmare start to our holiday in Andermatt when our son broke two vertebrae in a skiing accident. We had already used Pearl Shuttle for our airport pick-up from Zurich to Andermatt, and were already impressed with the punctual, professional and informative driver (Mate) and the excellent shuttle vehicle itself. But after our son's accident, the company really excelled itself with Cornelia the owner helping us arrange our transportation for visiting our son in hospital in Lucerne at a very reasonable price. She also contacted a Lucerne-based colleague at very short notice to help get me back to Andermatt on the day of the ski accident (as I had flown with my son by helicopter to Lucerne and had no other way of getting back to Andermatt that night). As mentioned, we were already happy with Pearl Shuttle's "regular" service but they then went above and beyond what is regular. Highly highly recommended! (Our son is now well on the mend by the way!)

We arrived for a short ski in Andermatt late February 2022. My girlfriend had never skied before (unless you count a couple of hours on an indoor slope...). She needed boots but we ended up renting skies as well (the ones we brought hadn't been serviced for a long time..)

The lady that helped us find our gear, Dominica, was kind and extremely helpful right from the start. She took all the time we needed to explain my girlfriend how the boots work, how they should be adjusted, what to do when you have pain, etcetera. Furthermore, she explained which slopes in the area are best for beginners and gave us some helpful tips (both on skiing and for me, on instructing).

My personal skies needed adjusting to my new boots, which she did gladly and called her colleague Thomas to give me some more information. Thomas was obviously a well-seasoned and extremely experienced skier and gear technician. I was flattered when he called my bindings one of the best in the market and continued to explain in great detail how they worked and how they can be adjusted to my posture, weight and size, skiing style, ...

In short, GREAT SHOP WITH GREAT QUALITY GEAR and even BETTER QUALITY PEOPLE. You will not be disappointed visiting this place.
