What travellers are saying
- Heinrich SBavaria, Germany3 contributionsBeautiful!! Since it is a private road, you have to pay a toll of 6€ for a car, but in my opinion it is definitely worth it. The view of the dunes and the sea is breathtaking. We were sometimes the only ones on the paths and were able to enjoy the peace and the view.Written 28 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelsAndVoyages128 contributionsworth the walk, great nature and wonderful view, and then continue down to the north sea for a long walkWritten 29 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stephen SGermany38 contributionsWe went in the museum thinking it may be an hour at the most.
It was so interesting and interactive for my 7 year old that we gave the beach a miss even though it was 28c and sunny.
It took up 3 hours of our time and could have stayed longer to really do it justice.
A bit expensive at 22 euros( I think as my wife paid) but well worth it on reflection.Written 8 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. PS it can be cool and windy.Written 21 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Traveller MehediBerlin, Germany116 contributionsLast point of Sylt Island. 18 Km from main city Westerland. We take bike cycle to go there. Road to this light house is amazing. We cross Rantum city to reach here. There small public beach beside this lighthouse. The small city call Hörnum.Written 30 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VolcanohopperGrafling, Germany41 contributionsThis old Roman church is built in a place where burials took place already in pre-historic times. The church itself has a nice wooden interior and a beautiful organ. The altar too is made of wood and beautifully handcrafted.
The graveyard surrounding the church has a park-like setting with lots of trees, lawns and other vegetation. Not the typical gravel-concrete desert found elsewhere. Definitively a place to visit if you're in Keitum anyway.Written 21 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The cliffs are impressive, and later on, when the path ends you can walk northwards along the beach and get even better views. This is worth doing and we enjoyed it very much. It's an easy walk for all levels of fitness and, for us, it was a good change from cyclingWritten 9 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - springstravelerOaxaca, Mexico410 contributionsI enjoyed going through this house. The receptionist was very helpful and gave me a book in English and answered many of my questions about how the family lived here and how the town was able to "acquire" such a historical landmark for a museum.Written 28 October 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MagdalenaVelbert, Germany30 contributionsIt's a small aquarium located next to the city centre and the beach. We were there with the one year old baby. He couldn't walk by himself yet but it was not a problem at all. We left the stroller next to the entrance and carry the infant on our hands. It was a good choice. Our son had a great time, he was very excited. There are fish tanks and glass tunnels where you can watch colorful fishes and sharks swimming around you.
There is also a small playground in front of the aquarium (with cars for children), gift shop inside and some kind of restaurant.
In general, I recommend to go to the aquarium if you are with small children and/or the weather is not nice.Written 10 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
