What travellers are saying
- LiesjeHoegaarden, Belgium21 contributionsVery interesting tour! I did this on a hot summer day. Make sure to bring something warm to wear, because it’s chilly inside. Although you can only visit the “tiny” part that’s turned into a museum, the enormity of the complex is astonishing! I think you can book a tour in English. My German is not so good but as a native Dutch speaker it was not too hard to follow. Especially because they lend me a booklet with all the information in Dutch. I think they might have it in other languages as well. There’s a little cafe at the museum and plenty of parking. A must see on hot or rainy days!Written 21 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LennartAxBåstad, Skåne County, Sweden14 contributionsI must say that this visit was very interesting even if I normally don´t do this kind of visits. But I really liked it.Written 9 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PaulBMaastricht, The Netherlands3,127 contributionsThe Catholic Church of St. Lawrence is the oldest hall church in the Rhineland. The history of the church dates back to the 13th century.
The gothic building is a three-aisled hall church and was built of raw stone, covered with stucco.
The church was radically renovated at the beginning of the 20th century, which is also reflected in the tower, which is closed by a circle of eight gables and an eight-sided spire.
During this renovation, frescoes from the 15th century were also discovered.

There is even a piece of wall that you can walk up, and along. The shops, restaurants, candy stores, bakeries are all fantastic. The market square has an hour of free wi-fi. I could have taken more time here, but we were trying to get to most of the towns on the Ahr River.Written 18 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - M. AnslikEckernforde, Germany58 contributionsAlthough hard to find the synagogue is a great place for concerts and exhibitions. Heavily worth when there are Klezmer concerts.Written 28 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- huys25Amsterdam, The Netherlands11,732 contributionsit is only a short walk between the wine field to the calvarie hill upon which this church and kloster complex is built. Along the way from town are the many white painted plasterwork statues of the statien with a short explanatory text.Written 17 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TennisgalGreenBay_WIGreen Bay, WI999 contributionsAlex was our sommelier and he actually is the wine maker at this Vineyard. We tried 6 wines, all so very different. The tasting room is very clean and tidy. Alex did a great job directing us thru the tastes. It was very easy to find a couple wines that we liked.
Ended up buying a white Cuvee Blanc and a red Pinot Noir. Also, we all appreciated that these wines are organic.
On the way to the car, there are some llamas to pet. A very picturesque and pastoral winery nestled in amongst the hills and dales.Written 17 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We entered the church, because our car was parked just at the opposite side of the street.
It's definitely recommendable to have a look inside, the altar and paintings are already worth a visit.

PROS:
High quality casino.
Easy to walk to from a variety of hotels.
The poker game is soft.
The town is beautiful.
CONS:
No Saturday poker, they have poker on Friday and Sunday. This is absolutely ridiculous.
The alcohol is expensive, but a pint in the sock took care of that problem.
The slots are a little tight, of course. Even on a full Saturday night 1 person played up to 4 machines, when the casino is full should be 1 machine per player.
Overall a great place to have fun. If there was Saturday poker I would have given 5 STARS.Written 22 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
