Very easily accessible by train or by car from Frankfurt am Main. We came in here for coffee a number of times as well as going to a health food store. It dates back to 1567 (with a number of changes since) and apparently now is an art gallery which was not open at the time visited. - sheepygoldEaling, UK5,521 contributionsWe visited Limburg 4 years ago and didn't find this museum then but I saw it advertised and decided to give it go. It is located a stone's throw from the front of the cathedral and is in a building over three floors with an additional modern extension. The entrance fee is a paltry 3 Euros - for what you get its amazing value. We spent about 2 hours here. There is one masterpiece after another from clothing through relics to stunning silver and gold items which are several hundred years old. There is so much to see it is overwhelming. It is interesting but not the best in the town. Apparently the bishop, known as the Bishop of Bling, was dismissed by Pope Francis for spending a reported $43 M on renovations. It’s a short bike ride or moderate walk along the river Lahn.
