Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying 10minutes down the road at Sherwood Forest park and went for a walk around the lake, beautiful, picturesque walk leading to the Abbey.
The Abbey and it’s grounds are stunning, steeped in history, spent a good couple of hours walking around it.
Lovely little shops and cafes in the courtyard where we enjoyed a delicious homemade cake and refreshment.
    Lovely little day out.

The car park has recently been moved from the grassy area in front of the courtyard to a large new car park behind the round house. There is now a £3 car park fee, normally payable by card on a ticket machine, but on our visit, the ticket machines weren’t working, so a car park exit token had to be bought from the visitor centre. Be careful to insert the token the right way up on exiting the car park or the barrier won’t open. The courtyard itself has a couple of cafes and gift shops, an upmarket ladies clothes shop and a military museum. Sadly, the gallery was closed up with no signs of it opening any time soon. From here you can also wander round the Thoresby parkland or visit the next door Warners hotel. A pleasant afternoon.

These are the best-preserved remains of a Cistercian abbey west cloister range in England, dating mainly from around 1170. During the Suppression of the Monasteries, the whole estate was acquired by George Talbot and incorporated into a large manor house. Now located within a very large county park. It is now a large ruins, we did not have access to any of the buildings because of safety concerns. Had tea and coffee (with Millionaire slice and Bakewell tart) in the café. The county prk itself appears to have a lot of fun places as well.

We love Ollies funshack, I can take my grandchildren and have a coffee while they are playing, then we can have lunch there too as the prices are really good. I cannot wait for them to reopen.
