You won't be here for long, but you can't start a trip to the north of England without a stop at the Angel. It's only a very short diversion from A1, there's free parking, it's a good spot for a picnic and there's often an ice cream van on site too.

This bridge is iconic and has great views. It is unusual and its worth coming to newcastle just for the bridge.

Saltwell Park is huge with lots to see and do. There is play parks, a lake, a train ride, toilets on site, ice cream van, Saltwell towers which offers a coffee shop, a maze, lots of wildlife and pleanty of benches to sit on and pavilions to sit under. There is lots of green space. It appeared well kept and clean.

Have visited here on multiple occasions to see all sorts of things. The acoustics are just phenomenal, it is such a pleasure to have this on my doorstep! Obviously the quality of the acts varies but the Sage as a venue is simply fest rate. Amazing

Absolutely brilliant experience, friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable volunteers, beautiful trains and rolling stock. The day I visited the steam trains weren’t in use obviously due to the exceptionally dry weather and the risk of sparks in the tinder dry vegetation. Although it is possible to book a private carriage on the train I found chatting to my fellow passengers totally added to the experience.
Causey Arch and the walking trails are beautiful and the cheese scones from the cafe worth the trip alone!

Took my wife to metrocentre for a birthday treat she loves going there lots of shops to see and stuff to buy,yes some empty ones aswell, but I don't the point of having signs telling to walk on one side because didn't follower the signs on the floor the times I had to move my wife in her wheelchair out of the way because people was walking on our side coming towards us when it says one way on the floor, yes i loved my visit to metrocentre and would go again but they need to make up the minds about the one way because people just don't follower it anymore.

This is a local attraction to me. Im not normally cultured, but its a break from the norm, although I thought there might be more older art works. Seems to be very modern, which if thats what you like, go for it.

The whole family love this place with so much to see and little gems to find. The waterfall if gorgeous and if you like wildlife this is the place for you. A small cafe onsite just adds to the appeal of this park

Excellent 1940s event. Credit to all volunteers and participants.

But oh the tearoom/cafe. The coffee was the worst I have ever bought it was flavourless, just like barely coloured hot water. And charging £4 for a slice of cake and £2.50 for a decorated cookie! Rather exorbitant, methinks.

The staiths is an impressive structure especially if you know a little of its history - there are information boards around, and you can walk on part of it.

My granddaughter loves it here. Such a lovely park, the butterfly garden is cute, we picked blackberries and walked by the river.

Our two year old thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the outdoor animals (including chickens, pigs, sheep, horses & alpacas) & the indoor ones (including guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits & stick insects).

The indoor ones require a small donation, but all the rest are just on the fields next to the local housing estates.

There is a small cafe on site that served pretty decent food. We had quiche (big slice) and jacket potatoes, with our youngster having sausage and chips.

This museum has a lot to offer. I was surprised to see so different things in a small museum. Well organised. A must view!

The lowest bridge in newcastle but don't let that put you off. The views off it are great and it's great to look at it from the high level bridge.
