We’re really glad we went up the cable car as you certainly do get a great view up there! It’s worth it just for that but do be prepared for at least an hour to 2 hour wait at busy times, a good tip is check the website before you leave as it updates with a rough idea of waiting time! But if your visiting Tromsø this is a must, when we went we were sliding around a lot at the top in the icy compact snow so maybe some clip on spikes on your boots would be a good idea as well! We ate and drank in the cafe also, we got lucky and got a table but again it’s how your luck goes as very busy as expected!
We also booked the shuttle bus there and back from the same site as makes the whole experience easier!

Tromso Fjords made us a nice welcome! There is a charging station at Stakkevollvegen so we had a totally white surronding and the view for the mountains. Nice!

Very interesting museum with lots of read about. Lots of well-laid out and interesting displays.

Not expensive - a rare treat in Tromso! The building is like a warren - many areas to it and you think you're lost, but just keep following it through. Bear in mind the content is all about life in the arctic, and that includes a heavy focus on hunting (including seals) of days gone by. So it is best if you understand this in advance, and if this is not something you wish to see, then perhaps avoid it.

But it is well thought out, and hunting was a key industry and means of survival for this part of the world, and it explains this well. We only allowed an hour, but we do wish we had allowed at least 2 hours, as there is plenty to see/read. There are booklets in different languages at the entrance.

Fabulous! Modern facilities. We came for the swimout heated pool, sauna, steam room and cold plunge pool and were not disappointed. Looking out over the snow-capped houses below, whilst basking in the warm water of the swimout pool is an experience well worth the cheap entry price. Single sex saunas are also available in the ample shower rooms. Spotlessly clean & sanitary premises.

Great beach to visit even in winter - amazing views over surrounding mountains and a very fresh breeze!
Cool to see a snowy beach, not your usual beach visit. Great place to see northern lights in the evening as it’s away from any light pollution and only about 15 mins bus ride so easy to get to. (Bus 33 I think)

We were there on a tour with The Green Adventure, really beautiful place and nice beach. We will never forget this arctic picnic in this village.

Very interesting interactive museum. A student ticket costs €8. There are various experiences like the human body, energy, and emissions, along with a planetarium that shows an engaging 30-minute film about the northern lights every day at 2:00 PM. Highly recommended, with fun activities not only for kids but also for adults. It's a pity that some exhibits were not working.

Very lucky to have visited on a sunny day. About 1 hour drive + ferry ride from Tromso. It offers epic views on a clear day, and much less crowded than the city. Snowmobiling tour or skiing tour with guide strongly recommended, as the best scenic areas are off-road. It is also worth to spend more days in the area for exploring on foot. Do note that weather can change rapidly or deteriorates quickly on any day, so always check the weather and avalanche forecast before heading out.

Our northern lights tour was sadly cancelled so we went for a walk here to enjoy the snow. Easy access here by bus from the centre.
Had a great time walking around the lake and making a snowman!
Apparently a good place for the northern lights too as it’s away from light pollution

Instead of paying to just visit the church we booked the midnight concert. It runs every evening as is easy to book online, cost us about £20pp.
Really great and unique experience. Amazing soprano, pianist and saxophonist playing Norwegian folk music and hymns.
Great way to see the church and enjoy a new experience.

This is the site of the original Mack Brewery - you get to learn all about the history during a captivating 20 minute video. The tour continues with just one small glass of Mack beer followed by a look at the microbrewery which now operates from here.

We did the Carla's Secret room as a group of 2 on their hardest difficulty and thoroughly enjoyed it!! We thought it was well thought out and had some lovely nostalgic moments/puzzles in it that brought a smile to our faces!! Thanks to the team for hosting us.
