Bracing myself for the usual shock Norwegian prices, instead I found this large store filled to the brim with lovely wool -- I purchased skeins of bulky 100% wool yarn for $5.50 per skein....there are basketfuls of 'deals' and also top notch brands -- alpaca, silk, mohair, cotton and especially worsted wool yarns. Comprehensive brands of needles in all sizes, buttons galore. I'd be very delighted to have found a store of this breath of wools in London -- and the staff are experienced knitters who provide good customer service. The ground floor is wall to wall comics with games and other memorabilia. The stairs are filled with puzzles as you head to the second floor which is jam packed with Lego sets from the very rare to the early ages. The manager is very friendly and helpful and often has student interns supporting. During the hour+ we spent in here we saw 1 child - the majority were 18+ (that is not to say it isn’t kid friendly but that there is no judgement and all are welcome). I was able to find a “hard to find” set which I had been looking for for months! - June H2 contributionsI´m got a tips from a friend in Tromsø about Twist´em Skis and joined in for a weekend! That was absolutely worth every minute and every penny! I designed the outfit with excellent help from Jens, the owner and "handy-man" and was able to give the skies a personal look.
Despite my lack of "handcraft-skills", it was actually much more easy than I thought it would be! Self-designed, self-build skies - well that´s pretty awesome! And best of all, they were excellent in the moutain as well!
