Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Aliusi S17 contributionsThere are a lot of shops, eating place. We visited some clothes shops and drink coffee. It's a large mall with lots of choice.Written 8 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VeronicaCheshire, UK25 contributionsIf you want to go the Arctic Circle, consider the Norwegian northern-est town of Tromso.
Great location to see interesting museums (though, generally small) such as the Polar Museum. The Arctic Cathedral was a great structure, only a short 20 - 30 minutes walk across a bridge - we did not know further up the Arctic Cathedral was a walk to cable car to go to the top of the town, so we did not go. On a clear day, the views from must be great.
Since Tromso is the northern-est Norwegian airport for commercial planes within the Arctic Circle, it has become a popular gateway for boats and cruises!!
Plenty of ‘tours’ around from feeding the reindeers to sledging with them in the winter months - check out before you travel and book - these tours are popular & some only run in the winter months (need some good snow!!).
Sami tours were both interesting and educational.
Why not try a reindeer & beer hotdog or a refiner stew? 😀
Tried the ‘Free Tromso’ walking tour (run by an Argentinian guy, who had lived in Tromso for years) - quite interesting and just give a tip what you want - very flexible.
Wished I stayed a day more - only did 3 nights.Written 26 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
