Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here last week. We had bought a packege that include a tour after hours, a concert and the Christmas market. The palace is more or less impressive as is typical of this period all aver Europe. The tour was well run and the concert was frankly exceptionally good. Mozart and Strauss with a lively minuet from Haydn - first class orchestra, a soprano and a barritone, well conducted. Much fun. (and fully sold out). The Christmas market was lively and full of locals. The prices seemed to be higher than similar markets in the centre.
The service staff called us a taxi afterwards. Well worth including in your schedule.
( We had considered including dinner in the package but declined after reading reviews on Tripadvisor for the selected restaurant).

We spent the afternoon at Rathaus at the Christmas Market for a couple of hours. So many great crafts and food to choose from. Don't forget to get a picture of the water pump in the center of the city.

We visited the The Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum) as an included tour with Uniworld River Cruises.

This museum was built in 1891 and is a beautiful building.

It is located near the Imperial Palace and has a great collection of artwork and a historical collections of various items.

You can spend several hours here admiring and viewing the various items.

A guided tour is great as you can a good explanation of the various art pieces.

    Its a museum worth visiting.

This is an impressive cathedral. It's great that it's free to visit the main part of the cathedral. I'd recommend climbing the south tower, it's cheap at 6 euros and is enjoyable, with good views from the top which can help you get your bearings around the city. It's around 300 steps, good stone steps.

I visited only the gardens of Belvedere Museum but even this worthed every moment I spent there. This Palace is also stunning, gorgeous and awe inspiring-even from outside- with very glorious and semiological decoration which is preserved perfectly. The gardens cover a large area and have thematic decoration. It is all divident in various thematic parts. Its better in Spring were all around is bloomed, but in winter is also good as it brings an essense of romantic-gothic era.

The Hofburg is located in the centre of historic centre of Vienna and was built in the 13th century.

It was the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty.

It has served as residence/workplace of the president of Austria since 1946.

Around this area you will see horse and carriage rides popular with the tourists.

This building has been expanded to include:, the imperial chapel (Hofkapelle or Burgkapelle), the imperial library (Hofbibliothek), the treasury (Schatzkammer), Burgtheater, the Spanish Riding School (Hofreitschule), and the imperial mews (Stallburg and Hofstallungen).

After the Schonbrun Palace Tour we visited the gardens located at the rear.

Entry is free however attractions such as Privy Garden, the Orangery Garden , Maze Zoo, Palm House and the Desert House require tickets.

The gardens are manicured and spectacular with water features and lots of seating areas for you to relax and enjoy the view.

We went here to see a performance of Tosca and were not disappointed. Superb production in all respects. Quite majestic.
The Opera house itself is impressive. Not really comparable to Garnier or Covent Garden, but still very elegant and user-friendly.
We had bought tickets in a parterre (box) and had a wonderful view. But if you want to do this, do as we did and buy the seats at the front row of the box; otherwise you will get a better view in the auditorium.
We forgot to prebook our drinks and snacks in the intervals. If you intend to go to a performance don't make the same mistake!

One of the most beautiful christmas market in Wien it’s located here. The place it’s impresive,
with a lot of stands offering Christmas products, hot punch and gingerbread. Directly in front of the illuminated town hall you can also find the approx. 30 m high festively decorated Christmas tree. The trees in the Rathauspark are also decorated and glowing in the dark. Especially the small children will like a lot the different Christmas attractions in the park.

An entire month of travelling in five countries, and this was undoubtedly one of the highlights. It is stunning and I feel that photos don’t even do it justice.

he Church of St. Peter (St. Peterskirche) was built in the 18th century in a round shape and is to some extent based on St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
The interior of the church has a richly decorated with stucco and frescoes.
Admission is free, although a (small) donation will always be appreciated.

The Stephansplatz is definitely the heart of the city.
You'll find Vienna's no 1 attraction, the Stephansdom (cathedral) here as well.
My advise: Sit down on one of the nearby terraces, have a drink and enjoy the local strett life.
We were lucky to attend the procession on the second Sunday in September during our visit.
