Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great to visit, audio guide very useful. Lots of rooms to see at your own pace, a glimpse into the splendour of the Hapsburg Empire

You can walk through the inner city and experience the flair of the city at any time. You do not necessarily visit all the options on the way, but of course you have the possibility to do so. Also you will find water refill stations on the way, what is an extra plus. During events or in high season this can be a crowded place, but it's worth it.

If the exhibitions do not peak you interest go anyways - the building itself is gorgeous and worth a visit. The coin collection and picture gallery are amazing. One of my favorite experiences was seeing an arrist recreate one od the paintings right in front of the original - what a bridge between past and present.

Recommend purchasing an all-inclusive ticket to tour the cathedral with an audio guide, a guided tour of the catacombs and access to the tower climb. Well worth the money to fully appreciate the grandeur of this magnificent building. Over 6M people visit this architectural wonder every year.

Visited the newest Klimt exhibit and it was fantastic! Went in the afternoon to both the Upper & Lower levels and I'd recommend that time slot. There were few tourists and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted with the paintings to include The Kiss. I half expected it to be as busy as the Mona Lisa at The Louvre but luckily it wasn't.

It is a great place to spend some time.

The exhibitions are amazing, and there is lots to see walking through.

I'd suggest going here to see Austrian history.

The size of the gardens is huge.

    They are truly vast.

The zoo is located in the gardens of the palace.

It is a 20-minute walk to get to the other end of the gardens, but the view back is well worth it.

    A must do

It is a fantastic zoo with a large array of animals.

There were lots of animals out even though it was cold.

The zoo is very ineratcive. We got to see tigers being fed, which was great.

The signs are clear, but the map helps a lot, too.

This is the world's oldest zoo, and it is in great shape still with lots of interesting animals.

The museum has printed history, thoughts, and reflections about each period of art history, the artists, and individual paintings. Beautifully laid out and informative for art buffs and novices alike.
Enjoy the vibrant, colorful African art by Ruth Baumgarte, then walk through the state rooms with Renaissance artists like Michelangelo, Durer, Rubens, and Bruegel. Then enter the modern impressionist gallery of Monet, Cezanne, Renoir, up to cubist Picasso and so much more.

You can’t tour the opera by yourself, you must buy a group tour to enter (unless you are seeing an opera/ballet). It is very much worth it, the guide shares a lot of fun information, you can see rooms that are closed during performances and appreciate the details of the building.

We really liked the place, it takes you back hundreds of years but unless you are very interested it is quite expensive for a short visit

Located on Petersplatz in the heart of the shopping district is Peterskirche ,one of the most beautiful churches in Vienna .
Constructed between 1701-1733 and inspired by St Peters Basilica in Rome ( Vatican ) ,constructed from designs from firstly Gabriele Montani and then Johann Lukas Von Hildebrandt with the beautiful dome the work of Matthias Steinl ,it's a great example of Baroque architecture ,we were wandering around this part of the city when we passed the church early hours of the morning ,on a bitterly cold night we were heading to the warmth of a bar so I took a few photos before moving on ,it's a church to most definitely check out if you're in the area and easy to locate Peterskirche.

There is a useful information desk on the ground floor of the Rat haus and, unusually for Vienna, free and accessible toilets. The building is well kept and there are some interesting courtyards.

A wonderful way to learn about Vienna during modern times. The museum shows beautiful art and design items that reflect the spirit of Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century, time of great changes in many areas. Some of the most revolutionary ideas of that time started in Vienna (Freud, Herzl, Buber etc.), and the museum presents them beside, and through, the work of great Austrian artists such as Klimt and Schiele. Don’t miss it!
