Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If your serving military you get in for free regardless of what country which was a good plus. Nice layout, however it would be nice if they had post ww2 exhibits even post 9/11

Vienna offers some of the best museums in the world, but none of them are so utterly surprising, enjoyable, or memorable as this little gem in a lovely neighborhood just around the corner from the Naschmarket.

I had seen The Third Man a couple of times over the years and thought it was a great film. But never in my wildest imagining would I have thought it would make for such an engaging museum experience.

The collection of items and artifacts here is mind-blowing, and so thoughtfully presented that even the most casual visitor is going to be impressed! There is also a full section of the museum that’s completely devoted to documenting Vienna in the years leading up to - and following - World War 2, helping to shed light on the setting of the film.

Beyond all of this, what makes The Third Man Museum so winning is that it’s truly a labor of love for Gerhard and Karin, the couple who created, own, and operate it, all with no governmental or institutional support.

If you happen to find yourself in Vienna with a couple hours to spare, you have to check this place out. As for me, it will be among the nicest memories of my time visiting Vienna. Thank you, Karin and Gerhard!

    An interesting place to visit.

As it is an actual residence, you can only view the outside which is viewable from the paved area in front or further down the road.

A “village” opposite includes many souvenir shops and bars which are worth a little browse - HOWEVER don’t buy!! You can buy all the same merchandise from the souvenir shops on the next road for half the price!

I mean so much effort has been put into those tombs and coffins, you can feel the grandeur but also the peace, it is a bit difficult to explain, but must visit and see with your own eyes

A lovely church you easily overlook. Magnificent interiors. Virtually empty of tourists but if you’re lucky you can catch the organist, practicing. A great find. And no admission or even request for a donation.

My husband and I are lovers of Viennese Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) and this church had been recommended to us by a friend. It is off the beaten track up in the hills bordering the Vienna Woods, but is easily accessible by subway and/or bus. The church is part of a public hospital campus that was designed by Otto Wagner. When we visited the direct stairway access to the church from the street was closed for repair. We were directed by the guards at the various gate entrances to walk around the property to the rear, where you walk down beautiful forest paths to reach the church. It was a little bit of a hike, the signage was not good, but we just followed others; while walking you get a sense of the beauty of the Vienna Woods. The church is only open on Saturdays and Sundays during limited hours.

When we saw the church we were stunned by its exterior beauty. Upon entering, our jaws dropped and we literally gasped at the white marble walls, the stained glass windows and the altar, all utterly unique and truly beautiful. Truly sublime. If you are a fan of Vienna architecture of the early 20th century and Jugendstil, this is a peak experience.

This is a very fascinating museum highlighting many of Vienna's Imperial Carriages, and it has a lot of history.

We came here by subway and then the bus. The bus stop Camping Wien west 1 is located close to the museum. The interior is very unique and worth the visit.

Vienna is full of small beautiful churches, make an effort to stop into some of them while you are out and about. I really liked the Dominican Church with its white interior and brightly colored artwork on the ceilings. If you are in the area, stop in!

Beautiful garden, really worth a visit in the early summer! Lots of flowers and other plants, everything well organized in various thematic gardens. As it's located a bit more on the side, it's not crowded. Many tables and seats to rest or even have a picnic outside. Worth visiting also with children thanks to many cool playgrounds.

This museum is quite small but features plenty of exhibits and hands-on activities. If you are interested in transport and are in Vienna it is well worth a visit.
