Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent the afternoon at Rathaus at the Christmas Market for a couple of hours. So many great crafts and food to choose from. Don't forget to get a picture of the water pump in the center of the city.

This is an impressive cathedral. It's great that it's free to visit the main part of the cathedral. I'd recommend climbing the south tower, it's cheap at 6 euros and is enjoyable, with good views from the top which can help you get your bearings around the city. It's around 300 steps, good stone steps.

After the Schonbrun Palace Tour we visited the gardens located at the rear.

Entry is free however attractions such as Privy Garden, the Orangery Garden , Maze Zoo, Palm House and the Desert House require tickets.

The gardens are manicured and spectacular with water features and lots of seating areas for you to relax and enjoy the view.

One of the most beautiful christmas market in Wien it’s located here. The place it’s impresive,
with a lot of stands offering Christmas products, hot punch and gingerbread. Directly in front of the illuminated town hall you can also find the approx. 30 m high festively decorated Christmas tree. The trees in the Rathauspark are also decorated and glowing in the dark. Especially the small children will like a lot the different Christmas attractions in the park.

he Church of St. Peter (St. Peterskirche) was built in the 18th century in a round shape and is to some extent based on St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
The interior of the church has a richly decorated with stucco and frescoes.
Admission is free, although a (small) donation will always be appreciated.

The Stephansplatz is definitely the heart of the city.
You'll find Vienna's no 1 attraction, the Stephansdom (cathedral) here as well.
My advise: Sit down on one of the nearby terraces, have a drink and enjoy the local strett life.
We were lucky to attend the procession on the second Sunday in September during our visit.

Recommended for an afternoon walk and it was not disappointing.

Easy to get to on the 71 tram and a nice walkabout with plenty of benches.

I used Google Maps to get around and it was perfect. I visited the composer's area.

The Volksgarten is a public park in the centre of Vienna and dates back to 1823.
The area was originally used for fortifications, which were destroyed by the French in the beginning of the 19th century.
A nice place in the city to relax.
    Admission is free.

This is arguably the most famous part of Vienna, and traveling around the Ringstrasse will give you a wonderful feel for Vienna.

    An interesting place to visit.

As it is an actual residence, you can only view the outside which is viewable from the paved area in front or further down the road.

A “village” opposite includes many souvenir shops and bars which are worth a little browse - HOWEVER don’t buy!! You can buy all the same merchandise from the souvenir shops on the next road for half the price!

This is one of my favorite parts of Vienna. You can very easily take the metro then connect to the 38 tram. It is a pleasant ride out to Grinzing. Exit and just start walking. You'll walk through beautiful vineyards, it is amazing this is part of one of the world's best cities.

It's a great but easy walk to the top, and if you're there late in the day or on a weekend, you can grab a glass of wine at a local heriguer out in the vines.

We did this yesterday in October, quiet with leaves changing. Stunning. A great thing to do when you are in Vienna.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy the little side streets and only walked through the main pedestrian area, but it was truly the most magnificent Christmas light display I’ve seen on streets. I saw someone describe it as an outdoor ballhouse, and I thought it was fitting. Shops are closed on a Sunday, but cafes are filled to the brink even outside. Probably one of the nicest shopping streets/tourists areas I’ve visited in European capitals.

A lovely church you easily overlook. Magnificent interiors. Virtually empty of tourists but if you’re lucky you can catch the organist, practicing. A great find. And no admission or even request for a donation.
