The museum shows beautiful art and design items that reflect the spirit of Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century, time of great changes in many areas. Some of the most revolutionary ideas of that time started in Vienna (Freud, Herzl, Buber etc.), and the museum presents them beside, and through, the work of great Austrian artists such as Klimt and Schiele. There's lots of great looking buildings in and around Museumsquartier ,from Maria Theresien Platz you have the beautiful and nearly identical buildings of The Natural History Museum and The Fine Arts Museum ,there's a magical Christmas market held between these two museums ,the fabulous Leopold Museum is located here also as is the Volkstheater ,all around Museumsquartier are all manner of cafés,pubs,bars and restaurants ,if you're planning a holiday to Vienna it's an area to most definitely check out.Written 31 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. With many interesting stalls that are selling many interesting festive items and to top it all off superb food and drink stalls.We went here for a couple of hours and had cups of Glühwein And festive food which were very good and well priced.
This is a superb Christmas Market which is in an excellent area of Vienna and is worth visiting if your in this area of Vienna.Really easy to find from Stiftgasse tram stop it's a few minute's walk.(This is my first review of Spittelberg Christmas Market).

The "youth of today" seems to gather around the pool to drink and socialize and play music--at least on a nice Friday evening in summer--but it's still a nice square to check out if you're in the area. Narrow streets ,beautiful buildings ,fantastic pubs,cafés,bars and restaurants ,the only way I can describe it is that's it's got a village feel to it in the city centre ,my twin brother Stephen and I were here over the Christmas period ,went to the cute Christmas Market here ,had a great time ,we then went to several great local pubs were we enjoyed great local beers ,all in all a great area of the city to visit if you're planning a holiday to Vienna.Written 21 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The play we watched Baskerville was first rate and extremely well performed. It has been 6 years since our last visit to the English theatre and it was pleasing to see the improvements to the bar area and toilets. My only criticism was in our seats. We were in the first row and the stage was very high resulting in a sore neck. The photos are out awesome and displayed well with great lighting in a beautiful space. - NanaYerevan, Armenia263 contributionsWe were happy to visit Mekhitarist Monastry in central Vienna..Great many thanks to the priest Narek for his kind approach and the guided tour we had in the Monastery. Lots of history inside, huge collections of painting, carpets, ancient manuscripts and many more....entire history of Armenia is preserved here.
We tried the Mekhitarine herbal liqueur prepared by the monks and bought a bottle for home.
Don't miss this historical Monastery, fyi, the street is also called after Mekhitarist.

This was a time when neighborhoods had special features that made them unique and served as a public amenity.
