- freerangekaleLondon, UK6 contributionsJames put together a perfect full day custom itinerary outside Vienna for our young family. We rode the gorgeous Danube route out of Krems, climbed castle ruins, had a tasty local lunch, and learned a lot about local wine at a kid-friendly huerige.
James is great conversation, full of interesting info, and superb with children (even the tired goofy variety). He also makes helpful Vienna suggestions and takes beautiful photos. Our tour was a perfect balance of quality family time, adventure, relaxation, natural beauty, and of course food/wine. We'd go again in a heartbeat. There isn't a traditional pro shop but a very hospitable woman that checks you in for golf and directs you to the caddie master.
He was excellent- did everything he could to set us up for a nice day of golf. Very great guy.
The course itself is somewhat of a links style with some very difficult approach shots (bunkers/guarded greens). The greens are in pretty good shape and the course itself was in good shape. Built inside a horse racing park and was an enjoyable 18. Wouldn't be a tough course but we had heavy winds which proved challenging.
We (twosome) were able to call the day of and reserve a tee time and played in just over 4 hours (behind a rather slow foursome). But it was overall a great way to spend a day away from the touristy things in Vienna.

2 hours, few activities to choose from and everyone went off the boat exshausted and happy.
If you're into some extreme water sports, don't miss this one.

The water is cold , as it is a river by a lake but very clean! There are plenty of entry points for swimming without having to walk down on stones.
I would recommend the public transportation to get there as parking spots are usually full after 12:00 on beautiful sunny days.
