Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Most of the main sights in Vienna’s historic center are located on the popular Ring Tram route. The U-Bahn is generally the quickest way to get around. It operates seven days a week from around 05:30 to 00:30. A 24-hour service runs on weekends and public holidays.
There are a number of ticket options ranging from a single ticket (2.40 EUR) to 24-hour (8 EUR) and 48-hour (14.10 EUR) tickets. Tickets are valid for all public transportation—buses, trams, and the subway. You’ll need to punch your ticket before entering the boarding area at U-Bahn stops, but for buses and trams, you punch it on board.

It’s highly efficient, modern, punctual and seamless. We used 48 hour pass and highly recommend it.

Going to Bratislava from Vienna we chose to take the hydrofoil instead of a train. The ride on the Danube was calm and quick. The seating was very comfortable.

If you want a view get window along the sides. Unless you get the very front center seats you will have obstructed view from interior seats.

Since it’s only a 45 minute ride, the lower level seats are just fine and no need to upgrade to the upper Captains level.
And once you’re underway you can walk around and look out all windows.

During Jun- Aug definitly get your tickets in advance or they may sell out.

Fast as anything to get you from the city centre to the airport. Clean, efficient trains every 15 minutes. Puts other cities transport to shame.

One thing. It claims you can check in your bags in Vienna, so you can travel hassle free. This is true but only for certain airlines. We travelled with BA and were stuck with our bags for hours.

The pink Christmas tram is a tram that only runs during the Christmas season and all money collected from the fares goes to charity. Because they are collecting money for charity, everyone is charged, and they will not accept transportation passes. This is sponsored by a snack and cookie company called Manner and the tram is painted pink to match the packaging of their products. We scheduled our trip to Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna in early December in order to tour the Christmas Markets in each city. (PaM)

Large number of trams and stops around Vienna. Easy to buy a (very good value) timed ticket that lasts a few days and get on & off as many time as you like around the city. Generally trams clean and not overcrowded, reliable and on time apart from 1 that vanished from the timing screens.

My first time on Westbahn from Munich to Vienna, due to strikes in Germany.

Booked First Class. Clear verdict, not worth the money. Everyone is doing fine with Standard, no obvious advantage compared to the other classes and not what you would expect compared to OeBB or DB where First Class makes a difference in terms of comfort.

Layout is two floors. Luggage can only be stored downstairs or between chairs for medium sized suitcases. I personally would not like to store luggage completely out of sight. Overhead storage is not usable, to small even for cabine sizes luggage.

Toilets are quite far away and incurred waiting time, I felt there are not enough toilets. Medium dirty, as you would expect in a train with just enough toilets. In general I would say not the most comfortable trains, feels more bumpy than other rides.

No bistro but a snack vendor machine with a selection of sandwiches and some snacks. The machine was broken but the very attentive staff found a creative solution, so at least I got some potato chips.

As far as I know Westbahn uses a dynamic pricing system. So if you can land a good deal - go for it, don't pay up for first class, save the money for the (surprisingly) acceptable "Gemischte Satz".

Having previously written a negative review about ATAV, they have now contacted me, apologising for the taxi not turning up at 05:30 and explaining why this happened. They have also offered compensation for out of pocket expenses
For those who have not visited Vienna, I would highly recommend going to this beautiful city. There is so much to see and do. In additio, the transport system within Vienna is cheap, very efficient and regular.
My daughter and her family live in Vienna and my husband and I have visited her for several years and at different times of the year. Each time has been enjoyable and special, with no shortage of things to do.
We are looking forward to our next visit - we might even use ATAV, as the journey from the airport to our apartment was excellent
Filip, our driver, communicated with us, and was polite and helpful.

We used this car service for both airport transportation and for a day out to Melk and Dürnstein. They were excellent for both. Both drivers we had were very nice and followed through on being on time. I highly recommend this company…. Ask for Lukas to be your driver!

We were met outside the arrivals at the Vienna airport and driven expertly to our hotel in the 4th district. The car was neat and clean and the driver very helpful. We will definitely use Trinitas on our way back to the airport in a few weeks' time.

We are glad that we chose to visit Vienna again after 5 years. We chose Airport Vienna Taxi to be the start of our holiday. Like 5 years ago, I can recommend these professional and perfectionist people. The cars are the newest.
Thank you for your high quality service.

Airconditioning broken. 40y-old systems in a 60y-old wagon. Border control due to soccer EC. Everything was relatively clean and I did sleep for a bit.
