Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very rich experience for those who appreciate art. The museum is huge and you need many hours to explore the entire place.

The Belvedere is a very historic palace complex consisting of two palaces ,Lower Belvedere and Upper Belvedere separated by a beautiful garden area ,both are Baroque palaces , Upper Belvedere was constructed between 1717-1723, a really stunning piece of architecture ,nowadays the Upper Belvedere Palace is home to a museum and exhibition centre which revolves around the palaces extensive art collection ,it's most definitely a museum and palace building to check out if you're planning a holiday to Vienna.

The museum has printed history, thoughts, and reflections about each period of art history, the artists, and individual paintings. Beautifully laid out and informative for art buffs and novices alike.
Enjoy the vibrant, colorful African art by Ruth Baumgarte, then walk through the state rooms with Renaissance artists like Michelangelo, Durer, Rubens, and Bruegel. Then enter the modern impressionist gallery of Monet, Cezanne, Renoir, up to cubist Picasso and so much more.

A wonderful way to learn about Vienna during modern times. The museum shows beautiful art and design items that reflect the spirit of Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century, time of great changes in many areas. Some of the most revolutionary ideas of that time started in Vienna (Freud, Herzl, Buber etc.), and the museum presents them beside, and through, the work of great Austrian artists such as Klimt and Schiele. Don’t miss it!

We visited the cafe. Great food (except vegetarian option) and expensive. Best chips I’ve tasted in a long time and husband said schnitzel was mwah! Good wine too.

We came here by subway and then the bus. The bus stop Camping Wien west 1 is located close to the museum. The interior is very unique and worth the visit.

It is a very small museum which you can find very amusing if you go there with your friends and family members. The whole visit can be done in an hour.

A lesser known gallery in Vienna. Tucked away on the second floor of the Academy of Fine Arts.

A small collection, but one of them is the “Last Judgement” by Bosch. A masterpiece!

This was worth the trip of 3 hours on a rainy day. The photos are out awesome and displayed well with great lighting in a beautiful space. You can easily spend an hour or more here... take it slowly and enjoy a time gone by.

Excellent, with good interpretation. It's not a huge collection, but historically so important and interesting, and some of the exhibits are spectacular. It's definitely on my "must do" list for Vienna museums.

The amount of the collection is beyond anyone ‘s imagination. I can’t believe that so many crockery was necessary at that time.

For fans of Gustav Klimt, this is worth a visit. The original cottage that Klimt rented from 1912 to 1918 is faithfully preserved as part of the larger villa. Klimt's studio provides a feel for the artist's way of working. There is no original art here, but there is a sense of history and presence that provides insight into the artist's unique style. There are also photos of lost Klimt artworks that were destroyed in a fire during WWII.
