Enjoy the vibrant, colorful African art by Ruth Baumgarte, then walk through the state rooms with Renaissance artists like Michelangelo, Durer, Rubens, and Bruegel. The museum shows beautiful art and design items that reflect the spirit of Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century, time of great changes in many areas. Some of the most revolutionary ideas of that time started in Vienna (Freud, Herzl, Buber etc.), and the museum presents them beside, and through, the work of great Austrian artists such as Klimt and Schiele. The photos are out awesome and displayed well with great lighting in a beautiful space. - mozart1956Boston, MA47 contributionsFor fans of Gustav Klimt, this is worth a visit. The original cottage that Klimt rented from 1912 to 1918 is faithfully preserved as part of the larger villa. Klimt's studio provides a feel for the artist's way of working. There is no original art here, but there is a sense of history and presence that provides insight into the artist's unique style.
