Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are probably few art museums in the world with a collection as fine and large as this one. In 2.5 hours, we saw one fourth of the painting galleries. Many Brueghels, some Rembrandts, Franz Hals, etc...we were mostly in the Dutch section. There are large sofas in every major room, which is really great if you need to rest more often. The architecture is magnificent. Coat check and lockers are provided.

Vienna was beautiful but it was drizzling much of the time, lots to see and lots to do, loved the city cruise too.

I had no idea how large this complex truly was until I spent 2 days wandering in and out of one museum after another. The Albertina is housed in a Palace here as well as the Treasury and King's Chapel and many other shops. If you've the time, you can lose yourself in history and gorgeous architecture and not have to venture out anywhere else.

One of the highlights on our recent trip to Vienna, the museum is gorgeous! The interior rivals some of the palaces for much cheaper admission.

Exhibits are super interesting, particularly enjoyed the section on human evolution - highly recommend a trip here if you’re visiting the city.

The collection is beautiful. The museum is not too big. It was a little bit crowded but it was Sunday... On the other hand the in house restaurant/coffee was disappointing. Mediocre food.

This was a surprising stop and definitely worth visiting. Here are impressionistic works of art from painters I’d never heard of. Additionally, rooms of architectural furniture are interesting in their own right. Located on the outskirts of Central Vienna, it’s found in an area called the Museum District, so there are other minor places to visit besides this stop.

worthwhile if you are interested in history, the audio guide is a bit long. Great introduction to Austrian history.

MQ is a little district in the center of Vienna, home to Leopold Museum, which host the world's largest collection of Egon Schiele artworks, MUMOK - Museum of Modern Art and some contemporary exhibition spaces - Kunsthalle Wien.
There are some bars, terraces and art installations between the museums, just to keep visitors entertained and well hydrated.

What a building for a museum. The building on its own is worth a viewing. Once inside the fun really begins. The layout was perfect and the collection is vast and informative. One could spend hours there and never move much. I have visited many many military history museums throughout the world and this is one of the most impressive. The tours for school children wasn’t invasive or too distracting. At €7 this museum is so much value for money and a definite must see.

I am a fan of old cemeteries so I had to visit this one when I was in Vienna in Oct 2019 (have had to pick Sept 2021 from the drop-down menu of dates although I can't imagine the place is any different). It's out in the suburbs of the city so I caught U-Bahn 3 to Simmering (the end of the line) and walked from there - about a mile. The cemetery is massive and I made a beeline for the composers section - more composers are buried there than you can shake a conductor's baton at! Beethoven (my favourite composer), Schubert, Brahms, various Strausses, Mozart (albeit a memorial, he's not actually buried there), actors such as Curt Jurgens and politicians such as Dr Kurt Waldheim. The Jewish section of the cemetery is particularly poignant and there are also Soviet war graves from WW2 - so you have a history of 19th and 20th Century Vienna in microcosm. Plus the cemetery features in "The Third Man" with the two "funerals" of Harry Lime! Well worth a visit.

Extremely interesting but I strongly recommend an audio guide to fully appreciate what you are seeing plus the background.
The collection is a nice counterbalance to the baroque and gold leaf.
After the visit, you look at the world in a different way.

A very interesting museum that is not much advertised in the area of Schönbrunn Palace.
Four floors full of interesting exhibitions and activities for children and adults. We enjoy a lot our time and we were not bored spending around three hours exploring all activities.
    Recommended to visit.

The Haus der Musik is well worth a visit. It is not a big museum but should definitely be on your itinerary if you visit Vienna. Vienna has a rich music history which is well exhibited in this museum. The museum also has interactive exhibits about the physics of sound and perception. The highlight for me was the virtual orchestra where you can have a virtual go at conducting the Vienna Philharmonic.

This collection provides insight into the life of the Habsburgs, especially their beloved Sisi. It was interesting to view but would not be on my list as a must-see. The silverware exhibit is huge and becomes repetitive. We found the rooms of the Imperial Palace of more interest. It is disappointing that in the Imperial rooms no photography is allowed.

We used our Vienna passes for this attraction. We went only because of that. It’s a long time since we’ve been to MT in London. However we were pleasantly surprised by the layout of the wax works and how one could interact with the lifelike figures. It’s a fun visit, and great to have a photo or two to send to friends as a bit of fun.
