Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I enjoyed walking the food market. A mix of local and tourist stalls. The vendors are a little pushy. Stalls include cheeses, meats, fruit & veg, spices, dried fruits, olives, cakes, plus loads of restaurants around. It was an enjoyable place to browse but not really must see unless you love food markets.

There is a fantastic Christmas Market thats held at Schönbrunn Palace and on our last day in Vienna this was were we started our day off.
This has got to be the best back-drop for a Christmas Market you are likely to get. With many stalls selling everything you can think of to do with Christmas.
We visited late in the morning and we were surprised how busy it was.We visited on the first day it opened and we stayed a couple of hours.
When we went here we had a few Glühwein drinks and a few snacks. The Glühwein were superb as was the snacks and price wise it was on a par with other Christmas Markets we went to on our six day trip in Vienna.
A brilliant Christmas Market and very easy to find from Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop it's a minutes walk away.(This is my first review of Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market).

No tourists, no bargaining, just real value und high Quality! Give it a try, starting in early morning with a turkish coffee, then a bun with HORSE liver loaf and finishing the experience with Shopping for meat and vegetable!

    Have a nice day!

A small market that I discovered by chance when I went to visit the Hunderwasser house(the market is placed beside the metro station). There are a dozen of smaller or larger stands selling very apetizing food, vegetables, fruits or pastries.

The last few Christmas periods have been destroyed by the pandemic but now that the pandemic has been tamed by the magnificent success of the vaccines it wonderful to be able to travel again to great European city's such as Vienna to visit the fantastic Christmas markets ,no where in the world does Christmas markets like Europe and Vienna is home to so many ,one of the best is Christmas Village On Maria Theresien Platz,a great festive market my twin brother Stephen and I dropped into ,one of 15 Christmas markets we visited in this most beautiful of city's during November .
Held on Maria Theresien Platz ,one of the most famous squares in Vienna ,the square connects the Ringstraße and Museumsquartier ,the square is flanked by two near identical buildings namely the Naturhistorisches Museum ( Natural History Museum ) and the Kunsthistorisches Museum ( Art History Museum ) and at the centre of the square is the huge and impressive Maria Theresien Memorial ,the Christmas market is built around this monument with lots of great festive stalls beautifully decked out for the Christmas period and it's popular ,we visited here late November ,weather was cold ,in fact it was actually trying to snow which was cool and the market was packed with a great atmosphere ,to warm up we grabbed a gluhwein each ,served steaming hot ,we sipped our gluhwein and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular Christmas market.
The gluhwein here was really good ,very warming ,it's priced at €4.50c and you pay €4 deposit for your Christmas mug ,you get your €4 back on your mug when you return it ,I always keep mine as a reminder of the Christmas market as each Christmas market has it's own distinctive Christmas mug ,we also enjoyed a delicious snack in this market ,we chose kartoffelpuffer ( potato pancakes ) which were delicious and very filling ,it was wonderful walking around the Christmas market sipping gluhwein and munching on kartoffelpuffer ,atmosphere in this particular market was really good ,so festive , a joy to visit ,we had a great time before we moved on ,this Christmas market is so easy to locate on Maria Thesesien Platz and is well worth checking out if you're in Vienna over the Christmas period.

Vienna has some amazing Christmas markets and as we are currently in Vienna my twin brother Stephen and I are trying to visit them all and one of my favourites and a Christmas market I've been to on several occasions over the years is Karlsplatz Christmas Market ( Art Advent Christmas Market ) .
This is a wonderful looking Christmas market ,the setting is magical with the beautiful Karlskirche as a stunning backdrop ,lots of great looking stalls all decked out for the Christmas period and very very busy ,we were here the 18th November ,market was opening for the Christmas season ,wandering around enjoying hot mugs of gluhwein and munching on raclette ( bread and warm cheese ) was just so good ,atmosphere was amazing ,loved it here couldn't have had a better time ,kept as I always do ,the gluhwein mug as a reminder of this Christmas market before we moved on ,this Christmas market is so easy to reach ,jump the Ubahn to stop Karlsplatz and you're in the Christmas market,if you're planning on visiting Vienna over the Christmas period I highly recommend you check out this famous Christmas market.

Christmas Market Altes AKH is an excellent Christmas Market on Alser Straße and was one of the Christmas Markets we visited on a six day trip to Vienna.
Located in a brilliant area of Vienna where there are many pubs and bars'this brilliant Christmas Market has every-thing that you would expect from a Christmas Market.
With many stall's with traditional Christmas Market decorations and light features and brilliant food and drink stalls'it's a magical place to visit for a few of cup's of Glühwein or a tasty festive snack.
We visited twice'once in the afternoon and once in the evening and both times we had Glühwein and Christmas snacks that where fantastic and price wise on par with all the other Christmas Market's we visited.
A superb Christmas Market thats in a great area of Vienna and easy to get to from the tram Lange Gasse tram stop it's a minute's walk.

I love the Christmas markets in Vienna ,have been so many times over the years ,this one held in Schonbrunn Palace is one of my favourites .
The setting is amazing ,the palace building is stunning ,the Christmas market is not massive but beautifully laid out ,lots of stalls all beautifully decked out for the Christmas season ,a fantastic looking Christmas tree and very popular ,my twin brother Stephen and I are currently in Vienna and we visited this Christmas market the day it opened on the 19th of November ,crowds were big ,we enjoyed glasses of gluhwein here served in a beautiful glass ,gluhwein was €4.50c and glass was €4 ,you receive your money back on glass when you hand it back ,I never do ,I always keep the gluhwein glass at each Christmas market I visit ,a nice reminder of the market ,we wandered around the Christmas market ,atmosphere was really good ,very festive ,it even started to snow which was superb ,added to the festive vibe .
We really enjoyed our visit to this Christmas market before we moved on and as on previous visits to here we had a great time .
Kultur Und Weihnachtsmarkt schloss Schonbrunn is easy to locate in the grounds of Schonbrunn Palace and is a must go destination if you're in Vienna over the Christmas period.
