Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- traveltheworld032Puerto Vallarta, Mexico165 contributionsWe weren't going to come here and decided to at the last minute - we are so glad we did because it was an awesome museum - so interesting and set up as a type of interactive diarama. We really got the sense of what the old homes and villages looked like before the big urban fire. Highly recommend.Written 2 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kowalski krzyPoland39 contributionsAmazing beautiful castle in the city of turku. We loved the museum,The entance fee was reasonable.there is also a place for kids to play.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 5star-Tones24 contributionsWow! This is a fabulous exhibition! So much to see. We spent most of our limited time exploring the ships! So fascinating to look through the wooden barque and the navy vessels. The Bore passenger liner was a lot hohum as it’s a working hostel so really not much to see of the original ship.
We didn’t get to go into the exhibition building due to time constraints.Written 18 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Luckily we found some of them here, especially 2 fish stores stood out to us. Staff was very friendly explaining us what was what, prices were okay.
Additionally you find a lot of international food booths there as well which as a tourist I found a bit less interesting.
All in all, one of the better places to eat in Turku.Written 15 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. All signs are in Finnish, Swedish and English. Lots of activities along the way for kids, our favorite was “young archeologists game” and bone research kids explanatory program.
The part of modern art museum impressed us with Finnish VJ and illustrator exhibition. Lots of work could be touched which made kids enjoy.
Unfortunately the building of museum itself can not be seen - it is a mansion with English garden, that you can only see from the window of 2nd floor, may it is reserved for private events only.

Ferries, most of which are for free, islands, lovely nature and small villages. In our opinion is important to do this route not in a hurry but in your own pace. Prices in the local shops are kinda high. Views are super nice. Early June was still not the high season so there were not too many people everywhere. We had a happy holiday there.Written 14 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Riku SRaisio, Finland1 contributionVery superior excelsior establishment, everything is new, open and a lot natural light. It’s nice to just to come inside to warm up at winter -25 ℃ when just crossing by. You don’t have to be an customer, loan a book or return late music records, everybody is welcomeWritten 4 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kanelbullar78 contributionsInteresting and atmospheric museum, very welcoming to children with a special leaflet explaining the rooms, and a children's play pharmacy. Great café. We loved it so much we looked around, went away and came back again.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MustaKissaMuonio, Finland103 contributionsI've fallen in love with this place on our previous travel and we came back here again. It's great to walk in the outdoor botanical garden, inside is very nice too, but the outside garden you can visit for free. Great in early June - so many flowers are in bloom. There are ponds, trees, flowers, everything you want from a botanical garden. There's cafe also, we bought ice cream to eat while walking. For me it's the loveliest place of Turku.Written 14 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 599AngelaToronto, Canada526 contributionsPerhaps the most fun you can have in public in two minutes. Boarding and disembarking are very smooth, and it gets you from one side of the river to the other, not far from the funicular-to-nowhere. Perhaps the most absurd transit connection ever designed, but it is free and very historic. It is a much longer walk away from the city centre than I expected but well worth it.Written 14 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MosseTurkuTurku, Finland1,885 contributionsThis is actually one part of the huge Kupittaa park. Kupittaa park is a park where you find something for everyone, everything from sports facilities to bird cages, traffic park, mini golf, open air pool yo huge lawns to just sun bath. One part is made as an adventure park for kids. It's free of charge and have all kinds of swings and climbing structures. Furthermore they arrange indoor activities such as painting workshops and theatre clubs. Sometimes they arrange concerts for kids, everything for free as the entire park is run by the city.Written 13 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
