- jc019233 contributionsThe museum overall is nicely setup with signage being mostly in English and Finnish. The museum has a nice collection of aircraft from the start of the Finnish Air Force, to the more recent era.
It was nice to see a wide array of aircraft in Finnish colors, especially the world's only Brewster Buffalo and a Hawker Hurricane. I think that the overall pricing of the museum is reasonable for what you get, and I love the fact that they have balconies that allow you to overlook most of the aircraft. The Coppersmith’s House and the Carpenter’s House are the oldest remaining wooden residences in Jyväskylä. They were built in the 1840s.
These craftsmen's homes have functioned as interesting museums since the mid-1950s. The museum covers all techniques of the craft. On our visit, there was an exhibition of four famous Finnish textile artists introducing modern tapestries beautifully.
The exhibition 'Under the Apple Tree' showing miniatures was especially interesting.

It features an exhibition of all his major buildings with words about them, diagrams, maps, some models and photos. Unfortunately the English captions are written in grey which makes them hard to read, especially when written on glass.
It also has an exhibition area about the curved plywood furniture that is now world famous and everywhere, and Aino Aalto's distinctive glassware designs. Some you can sit on to try. There is a small cinema room for some films about them.
It took about an hour to see everything.
The gift shop is very good and the cafe is nice coffee and a good setting to rest.
I would recommend a visit to the museum by walking along the lake side fun the centre of town. Then after the museum you can walk back through the centre of town and see the actual buildings Aalto designed - from the museum, go up the steps to the university and go from there. You can see the university campus and sport facilities, then the teaching college, and further into the town theatre, the civil guard building, and the working men's club. Near the old train station you can see the pink wooden building which is where his first architect office was. In those days almost every building on town was wooden - which shows what a shock his modern designs would have been! Overall the town is like a living museum of his work.

The exhibitions focus on exhibiting the Finnish contemporary art and art from Central Finland as well as the best of international contemporary art and old Finnish masters.

- Anne K1 contributionMysteeri is in my mind the best room escape game in Jyväskylä. The rooms have a nice background story that continues in the room. The puzzles flow nicely in a way that you don't get stuck. Also the hints are given when necessary without asking. I didn't recognise a single beer on offer.
