Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    Great place for walk.
Suomenlinna is an 18th-century sea fortress and natural area with centuries-old artillery and defensive walls guarding access to six connected islands. Hiking trails run through the park leading to popular monuments such as the Royal Gate with drawbridge and the Suomenlinna Museum, which presents military and maritime history.

Entry is €8 for an adult and I think children are free. I’d like to say I’m fairly well travelled but I’ve never seen a church like this before. The wooden circle on the roof, slates which let in a lot of natural light and rocks/stones all the way around.
You won’t need long here, we stayed a maximum of 15 minutes. Around the back of the church you can walk up to the top if you wish. You can’t see the green roof but it’s very peaceful. There’s also a few benches so it’s good spot to rest your legs.
Overall, a beautiful church with an utterly unique design but €8 entry seems a little excessive.

So much to see, taste, and buy! You can really make a day of it in this place! Be sure to see all the vendors outside for the best prices! From fresh fruit, flowers, fish, meat, cheeses, to clothes, handcrafts, and souvenirs, the market has everything. The food court is wonderful, so stay over for a meal!

Great for those who want to combine nature with history. The sea and the small beaches are an added bonus. Great for sunny days in both summer and winter. If the ice is strong enough walking around the island on a sunny day of early March is magical.

Admittedly we didn’t go inside the cathedral. But the structure of this Russian orthodox church is very impressive. The colours are very eye catching and the gold on the top is very regal, similar to churches you see in St Petersburg and Kyiv.
Overall, a visually stunning cathedral, it would’ve been nice to see inside but we didn’t get the time.

Great to see such a pretty boulevard in the centre where you can stroll amid trees. I think the inspiration was Paris and I can see the similarity.

At the sides of the wide avenue there are many bars, shops and restaurants to chose from,
I suggest Kappeli cafe which has a pretty impressive history with the Artistic folks.

Nice place to end a busy tourist day!!

It is the main terminal for cruise ships within Finland and outside. We took a silja line cruise ship from Stockholm and arrived here.

Senate Square is a must see while in Helsinki. Here is located Helsinki Cathedral and, right in the middle, the statuary group of Alexander II Czar. Also, there are only 5 min walking to the Market Square and 7-8 min to Uspenski Cathedral.
Beautiful open area, could become very crowded time to time as long as is well known as a meeting place for large tourist groups.

It’s an amazing metal construction, but was crawling with tourists and locals trying to get a picture.
It’s right next to the sea so it was very scenic. When researching before visiting Helsinki this was a top spot to visit. I personally don’t see the appeal and fascination but I can’t deny that the structure is well made.
Overall, a nice sight to see if in the area but I wouldn’t specially travel here just to see it.

We took the ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm and it was such a bargain price to have a small cabin to ourselves we saved a bunch on flights/hotel. It was a bit of a jolty ride at times, and I did wake up at around 3.50am when we reached the Åland Islands because of that, but I don't regret it because I went on deck and got some beautiful pictures of the archipelago and the sunset. The several hours before reaching Stockholm were filled with so many beautiful islands and houses on the lake to see so highly recommend getting a coffee and sitting on deck 2 hours before arrival. Food and drink was predictably expensive, but not too bad. There was onboard entertainment but we didn't attend. There's a duty free style shop that's quite extensive also. The bar at the back sun deck was great, but the benches all along the side were also wonderful for sight seeing. Definitely the recommended way to enter Stockholm.

Located on a big open square, this is one of the city's food markets. Happy to see so many different fruits and vegetables available. We did not buy, but looking was much fun.

An open space offering you a vivid atmosphere. You can find here a lot of stalls with food, souvenirs, fruits and vegetables, handmade gifts and handicrafts etc.
The prices are not low at all but there is good stuff. The food is very tasty too, even is quite uncomfortable to eat in those tents especially when is very crowded.

We enjoyed our stay in Kiasma and bought gifts from the museum shop. The Tom of Finland exhibitions was good but little bit too much. I like to VR as part of the show, but photographs are too many. And I also like to Photo exhibitions og the Nigerian artist Fani-Kayode, but there were only few of his work on the wall. We are missing some more different exhibitions from younger generation and maybe they can use part of the Tom of Finland exhibitions rooms for something else to give more variaty.
