Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bought a ticket from the machine. Easy but interesting ! Had to help someone else to get their ticket. They must’ve thought I was a Finn!
Loads of people all rushed forwards when bout came. Great views on trip over
Went to visit centre to pick up a map Initially followed the blue path but soon ventured off this
Didn’t pay to go into the museums but loads of others were. I. Sure they we’re interesting but the day was too nice to be inside
A definite MUST when in Helsinki

A wonderful church and incredible that it was built into solid rock - incredible architecture both inside and out, a great feat of engineering.

The acoustics are suppose to be excellent and so would look to attend a concert here. There is an entrance fee of 8 euros per person which was worth it.

Impressive building viewable from practical everywhere in Helsinki. Painted grey to show up against the snow
Free entry. Not very big inside compared to many British cathedrals. Also very plan due to the nature of its religion
    Certainly worthy of a visit

A great place to see local produce especially food. It was very hot inside so we didn’t stay too long. There were loads of other people eating in there
Worth a walk around if nothing else

We followed the snaking trail of tourists up the steps and into the church. As it was rather busy we took a quick look at the ornate interior and departed but not before spotting a man wearing an All The Stations hoodie!

Spent a great day on the island and at the open-air museum. We went on a Sunday, so we expected it to be quite crowded, but in the morning it wasn't too full.
Very interesting collection of traditional wooden houses.
There are many squirrels on the island, but we managed to see only one.
If we visit again we're going to bring our own lunch as we found it difficult to find an open cafe.

We purchased an HSL card at the airport to take the train and tram to our hotel near the Marina. You can buy one or multiple days (up to 11) at any iKioski. The pass is good for 24 hours or more days from the time of purchase. There are three areas ABC. The pass was good for train, metro, tram, bus, and ferry. With the tram covering most of the City and with multiple trams per hour, it was the best way to get around. And very affordable. You can see many of the sites (but do visit and explore) right from your window. The ride is smooth, quiet and not so fast you cannot enjoy the passing scenes. You get a real feel for the city from the comfort of a forward facing window seat.

Great central location is a can’t miss opportunity for people watching. This block sized square is a popular magnet for folks climbing the steps for perfect views of downtown Helsinki. You’ll eventually cross through this iconic location, stop for a moment and appreciate the wonderful ambiance.

Came to Helsinki on a business trip and had a free afternoon to walk around the town. This was a lovely chapel to go to - interesting architecture. It was nice to see the tourists respecting the "silence" aspect of it. I sat in here for about half hr just enjoying the peace and quiet.

    Helsinki to Stockholm
    Hassle free trip
Enjoyed being on the deck, shopping the stores and relished the grand buffet that was served at 16:45 and 07:00 the next day. Though my room was a smaller one, there's no dearth of facilities and one can always relax on the upper deck.

This excellent biological museum (first a zoological museum and since 1996 a natural history museum) has three floors: bones on the 1st floor, the wildlife of the world and climate change exhibition on the 2nd floor, evolution and Finnish nature on the 3rd floor. Picnic tables are available in the courtyard.

The building itself is very interesting, too. It was built as early as in 1913. For a short period of time it served as a school and as the building of Jaeger Regiment and the headquarters of the army. The University of Helsinki bought the building in 1923 and opened a zoological museum there.
