Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very peaceful, beautiful. Managed to time my visit with an organ practice/concert and the sound was amazing. Something to see but without the organ playing would have been a very short visit.

Stunning inside and out! It's not overwhelmed with design inside which may be shocking to some, but it's so lovely and peaceful.

Really nice good options here and well priced. Good place to try the local meat and fish all very fresh. Nicely decorated with wooden stalls, enjoyed wandering and snacking!

Very gtand cathedral that's worth a visit. I didn't stay inside for too long, had a lovely opulent feel to it. Is walking distance from the centre but need to get up quite a few steps to get to it.

The main attractions of the new no 15 tramline, two big shopping centers are situated at both ends. Starting in Keilaniemi business park in Espoo the tram stops at Otaniemi by the Aalto University campus travelling then through scarcely inhabited areas to Sello Mall in Leppävaara. A short tunnel passes below an ancient fortress hill before emerging in Pitäjämäki. There are connections to the railway network at Huopalahti and Oulunkylä where you can change to the Ring Rail for airport. The end station in East is the big Itis Mall with access to the metro.

The 3ed floor kids area is a a great place for littles to blow off steam, maybe up to 7yo. Our 10yo was excited by the 2nd floor where so much equipment is shared but you must have a library card to access it and so he left disappointed. The building is gorgeous and spirit of such a well loved public space is plain to see.

Came to Helsinki on a business trip and had a free afternoon to walk around the town. This was a lovely chapel to go to - interesting architecture. It was nice to see the tourists respecting the "silence" aspect of it. I sat in here for about half hr just enjoying the peace and quiet.

    Amazing building with brilliant artwork!
The impressionist exhibition was superb. The layout of the art was beautiful and all in all a must visit museum!

A grand building that is both functional and beautiful.
It is a gorgeous train station that is so clean, orderly and has the most beautiful Burger King you'll see anywhere...trust me.
We were astonished by how quiet and calm it was - even though it is a working central hub.

    Helsinki to Stockholm
    Hassle free trip
Enjoyed being on the deck, shopping the stores and relished the grand buffet that was served at 16:45 and 07:00 the next day. Though my room was a smaller one, there's no dearth of facilities and one can always relax on the upper deck.

This excellent biological museum (first a zoological museum and since 1996 a natural history museum) has three floors: bones on the 1st floor, the wildlife of the world and climate change exhibition on the 2nd floor, evolution and Finnish nature on the 3rd floor. Picnic tables are available in the courtyard.

The building itself is very interesting, too. It was built as early as in 1913. For a short period of time it served as a school and as the building of Jaeger Regiment and the headquarters of the army. The University of Helsinki bought the building in 1923 and opened a zoological museum there.

Oh what jewels to be found inside. This is a big library with 7-8 levels. It's a book readers paradise for sure!
Entry is free. You need to leave your coats, umbrellas and food etc at the ground floor. There are free lockers.
The building from inside is beautiful, with gorgeous frescoes.
The library is spic and span and well organised. Many places to sit and read in silence.
There is a cafe downstairs but didn't check it out. Clean restrooms.
A week is not enough in such a place.

It is a good museum in an attractive building. It is a fine introduction to the histolry of Finland. I expect it will be even better in 2027 after its multi-year renovation which will be starting soon.

Used to be my favorite department store in Finland, however there is now a limited amount of high end brands mixed in with average brands.

We enjoyed our stay in Kiasma and bought gifts from the museum shop. The Tom of Finland exhibitions was good but little bit too much. I like to VR as part of the show, but photographs are too many. And I also like to Photo exhibitions og the Nigerian artist Fani-Kayode, but there were only few of his work on the wall. We are missing some more different exhibitions from younger generation and maybe they can use part of the Tom of Finland exhibitions rooms for something else to give more variaty.
