Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really worth a visit. Must be very nice in the summer, but a great place to visit all year around. Just a short ferry trip from the city. Nice to walk around on your own, but also possibilities for tours. War/military museum, lots of different buildings, old walls etc. Surprisingly big.

This is a wonderful example of architecture thinking outside of the box. It's set within a large roundabout built into a rock mass with it's large green dome protruding like a spacecraft from the top. Inside the walls are of the same rock all the way around with a very basic altar and an organ to the left. It's very nice to see but there's no way I would pay 8€ to visit it. Instead, I simply arrived at 09:45 on Sunday just before the 10:00 mass and no one said anything, took my photos and left before the service began.

Many of the stalls were still closed in the morning, but by lunch time, more were open. The stalls are very cute and some have created little sitting areas within their stall. Good variety of items.

Great for those who want to combine nature with history. The sea and the small beaches are an added bonus. Great for sunny days in both summer and winter. If the ice is strong enough walking around the island on a sunny day of early March is magical.

The iconic place where they filmed the Darude Sandstorm music video.
A lot of steps to climb to reach the cathedral. There is an entry fee for this church.
    Simple yet striking architecture..
A part of the building was undergoing restoration. There was an installation of a huge globe in the middle of the church when I was there. We were allowed to access to the 2nd level in the church.

Beautiful Orthodox style architecture, with ornate golden features on the interior. It has no entry fee so worth to check this church out when in Helsinki.

Never in my life did I expect a public library to be the highlight of a place I'd never visited before, but I left the Oodi completely inspired. Need a work space? Meeting room? Recording studio? Game room? Kitchen? Sewing machine? 3D printer? UV printer? Book? Tool? Video game? Board game? Musical Instrument? All of this is available at the Oodi, and it's all FREE. If only every city had this kind of amenity, the world would be a MUCH better place. Bravo, Helsinki!

It's apparently known as the Finnish Champs-Elysees. Having been to Champs-Elysees in Paris, there really is no comparison. But it's a beautiful park in the middle of a beautiful city. A most enjoyable stroll (or thoroughfare, depending on where you're headed!)

Unusual, quirky architecture for a church/chapel. It is rather a small church/chapel. It might be too quiet for those used to the bustling of the city but a nice place to escape if you need a temporary moment of silence.
There is no entry fee in October so do check out this place if you are around this area.

Famous old buildings like the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the University surround the square. In the middle of the Square is the statue of Alexander II, Emperor of Russia. When we went, many shops were set up in the square - street food, souvenirs, clothes shops, etc.

This is a very large wooded and green park with lots of trees, greenery and walking paths. Head to see the Sibelius Monument and then keep walking and you'll come to a very pleasant spot to walk along the river.

Beautiful building, located in the city centre of Helsinki, you cannot miss it.
Apart from its core function, as a main transport hub in Helsinki, it is a must see touristic objective in the city due to its innovative architectural style, one of the best known of Finnish architecture.

A buzzing square, flea market by the harbour. The outdoor stall vendors selling variety of souvenir items, reindeer fur, handicrafts , traditional food, fresh fruits & vegetables, coffee and snacks stalls and lots more to see and buy. There's a ferry connection to Suomenlinna Fortress island from the Market Square

A small but interesting market in a beautiful part of the Finnish capital - right beside the Gulf of Finland. Reindeer hot dog for the win!

The best judge of Stockmanns is not me it’s my wife and she loved it.

She felt it had the same ambiance as such famous stores as Globus and Harrods.

    I rest my case.
