I have played outside this stadium on a few occasions, but had never actually been in until Finland had a fixture against Wales.

Being Welsh in Finland this was a great opportunity for me to go support my country but also to take my son (who's Finnish) to watch too.

The stadium staff were very confusing and had sent us the wrong way twice and then when we got to the right area it was sealed off.

There were only 2 temporary toilets to use which wasn't great but that's really the only downside.

It was clean, had character, no restricted views, just really nice.

Shame the game wasn't so great. One plus side was I got featured on the Welsh FA and Welsh TV twitter accounts for being what looked like the only "away" fan there!

If you get the chance. Go visit.

It is now possible to enjoy all the amenities of the most prominent swimming complex in town as the past regulations have been abolished. I begin my spa day in the misty hammam, proceed to the large panoramic jacuzzi with several water showers before doing my laps in the Olympic pool. The cycle is ended by a quick dip to the +6 degree Celsius coldwater spot followed by the hotter sauna. All the calories shed will be replaced by coffee and pastry in the Uppopulla cafeteria overlooking the whole hall.

Forget the new Allas -pool or the Stadium swimming pools, those are often busy, loud and full of posers. Kumpula pools are well kept, clean and popular with local families. Plenty of room for laying on grass and enjoying a sunny day. Also has basketball court and beach volleyball court + gym. On sunny days the ticket lines get very long and move slowly, go get in early! (on weekends between klo 10-13.00 usually the longest lines).
The kiosk offers some basic snacks, ice cream, drinks and fast food.

By a long distance better than any soft play area we’ve been to in the uk. Its more akin to play areas that large amusement parks have. Genuinely an excellent soft play for anyone from 1-10. There’s a large number of slides all very different and inventive. Not sure if we caught it at a strange time being a Saturday at the start of the Finnish holidays but the place was pretty quiet the entire time we were there which meant that you basically end up with free rein which you would never get in the uk. We would definitely go again and would highly recommend for a rainy day. Adults get in free which is always a plus!

Hyvä luisto ja pito ja riittävän pitkä latu. Good place to practice if you're a beginner in the Nordic skiing

... on a cold or a rainy day.
    Not too crowded.
There are walls from beginners to experts.
Equipment is for loan, which is good.
One star dropping is because it’s a little bit to expensive.

HopLop in general is a very good place to take your kids when the weather sucks. The Lanterna Hoplop itself is the best of them all.

It's a warehouse-sized large space, maybe 400 square meters in total, made of communicating cubes where kids travel, climb, hop, slide, bounce, fall through and swing by to get from one place to the other. There's rooms full of balls to swim in, elastic floors that you drop through, a huge toboggan where you can slide down on a tube, trampolins to bounce on, bumpy things, slippery things, foamy things and climby things! And this is not one floor; these cube rooms are stacked 4-high so we're talking around 1200+ cubic meters of fun and discovery all in one spot

And there's a "volcano" you can climb up and then slide down the middle (fun for climbers of all ages).

One of the most fun things you can do as an adult in HopLop is go look for your kid and get lost in there yourself.

The cost is high but the place in this case is worth it. You pay €15 for each child, though parents don't pay. There's a café with a restaurant that caters to small people's tastes, though they do have coffee and refreshments and well, the food is Finland healthier food, even if it's for kids.

They also have several private rooms that you can rent for parties: a princess room (yikes), a pirate room, and a disco room. You can book the room and special food and items for the kids. The room rental includes free use of Hoplop and every kid gets a discount coupon for another visit.

There's a decent parking lot right outside and it's free.

A really nice place to climb. Me and my husband are beginners and we really like this place. Now we try to visit once a week. Really friendly staff too :) However if you are looking just to try climbing or are already experienced at climbing this place is great!

A no-frills but welcoming curling hall to the north of Helsinki, with approx. 6 full lanes which can be used. I contacted the curling hall through their website - which offers 2 hours of curling plus demonstration for €170. As we'd done it before we instead made a 2 hour booking for €120 - good value for a single lane with 4+ people playing. The facilities are fairly basic, but shoes and brooms are included in the price, and there's a fridge with water/changing rooms you can use. Highly recommended for an authentic winter activity!

Half of the park is a children's playground.

For adults, a traditional Finnish restaurant Kannas is located next to the park.

I have played all the three rooms and specially the horror room was great, probably my favourite escape room of all time! And I don’t like horror movies at all, but this room was great.

My first escape room experience and really enjoyed it! ’The curse’ was really challenging and fun (also at times a bit scary).

Excellent game full of surprises! Challenging, as first timers we didn't make it through the game but we got close enough to feel accomplished. Experience was better than expected. Time really flew by. Game master was great and we were happy with the hints and their timing.

Although we managed to escape only in our dreams, we were comforted by the fact that we solved our way up to the very last puzzle 😎🧠 Highly recommended!

Staff was extremely enthusiastic and the whole experience was one of the best escape rooms I've been in.

The fact that Hotel Katajanokka actually is a former Helsinki county prison renovated with loving care into a lifestyle hotel really adds to the experience. Well done!
