Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this place during our first trip to Helsinki. We like northern design. The special exhibition with carpets is amazing. The standard collection with design examples is also very interesting. The building is art on his own.

You’ll get a good introduction to 20 th century Finnish history in the house of its first president. His life spans the time of czarist Russia up through WW I & Ii. The museum is his home right in the middle of the posh embassy neighborhood. Have a delightful stroll after through the neighborhood and to the park down ro the sea

It is a very nice experience visiting this museum. Some dolls like Micky are not representing their fictional characters in my option. However, many of them are so finely made that you will fell like passing through a journey to your childhood.

The WW2 era submarine is a greast place to visit when on Suomallina island. The sub is tiny inside and the idea of a number of men living and working in the cramped interior is mind boggling. There are some great information panels telling the story of the heroism that would have been needed to be a part of the submarine service.

I really liked the museum grounds and building. We visited for Van Gogh although I must admit that was slight underwhelming as it mostly featured only his lithographs and early black and white sketches. Still worth the visit and I’d come back for other exhibitions.

The museum gives an insight into the design and building of the naval fortress on the island. There is the military history as well as the social history since its decommissioning and civilians replaced soldiers. The video was the best bit (apart from the long wait for it to start).

Surprisingly interesting museum about money, the monetary system, and financial literacy. Right next to the tram stop and free!

This 19th-century villa next to Finlandia Hall and opposite the National Museum has usually had very interesting exhibitions.

This time there was an exhibition of Jörn Donner’s travel photographs which were found after his death. Film director, writer, and politician Jörn Donner (1933–2020) made countless journeys abroad over the decades he worked as a reporter.

This exhibition has got a lot of attention in the Finnish media and I had high expectations. However, they were not quite fulfilled.

Compared to the other exhibitions at this museum, more effort could have been put into the display. Now it was mainly hanging photos on the wall and some texts projected onto the floor.

A nice little museum about the University of Finland and its impact on society. Also a temporary exhibition with a look at Finnish food production.

Located not far from the popular Esplanadi. Exhibitions on astronomical items such as telescopes. The room on climate change is interesting. But in general, the exhibition is a bit difficult to follow, as the explanation is too technical for ordinary visitors and not interactive enough.

Interesting museum. I think older adults could get the most enjoyment out of it, since they know and/or have lived in/with all the different types of technology displayed.
When I went there, it was pretty crowded, and not all interactable equipment worked (or I couldn't figure out what shall I do because of the occasional lack of English translations).

Getting there was a pain in the butt. There were road works all around, and even with Google Maps it took me way too long to get to the museum from the bus stop because there weren't any signs helping pointing tourists in the right direction.

Perhaps you are heading towards the Arabia Outlet, but do not miss the visit to the top floor which displays glass and porcelain, a rich history of what was made in these large industrial premises. The visit is free of charge so no reason not to take the elevator up.

As an actor I found many interesting things here but it is also very fun place with or without kids even if you are not a theater buff.
The costumes alone are interesting and here you can have a closer peek how professional theater costumes are made.

Children would have tons of fun here and you can actually arrange childrens birthday party here.

Taidehalli is a small art museum in a pink neoclassical building completed in 1928 in Töölö behind the Parliament House. The exhibitions are changing constantly. The main focus of the program is on contemporary art.

On our visit, it was the final days of the exhibition 'New Perspectives Through Photography – 25 years of the Helsinki School'. There were some quite interesting works from a group of photographers who took part in the teaching program of adjunct professor Timothy Persons at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, starting from the early 1990s.
