Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsSituated in the outstanding granite palace of former Suomi insurance company Forsblom has room for three separate exhibitions simultaneosly. The biggest in March was dedicated to the late Jukka Mäkelä and his large blue grey abstracts. Interesting and expensive pieces of art were also displayed in the office area like the ceramic statues by Kim Simonsson, one glazed shining platium, the other covered with feathers, nylon fibre and painted green. Jacob Hashimoto's hanging work "The drift of Time's Fundamental Geography" consists of small, handmade wooden frames filled with multicolored materials.Written 30 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsAnybody under 18 years old with artistic aspirations can join in for free the different ongoing projects at Annantalo in the center of Helsinki. Two exhibitions are now open, one of jewellery made by children from surplus materials and the Museum of Graphic Arts. Spanning over 35 years it visualizes the techniques teached to the young artists as well as showing their collected works. The building, which is over hundred years old used to be a school.Written 5 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsThe collection representing 150 years of Finnish glass and tableware design at the top floor of the former Arabia factory hasn't been changed during the past three years. It is a pity as the Design Museum responsible for it has huge resources which they can't properly show at their rather small building in downtown Helsinki. As the museum at Arabia is free it is still worth taking a look when visiting the outlet shop downstairs. Alfredo Häberli, the Argentinian born Swiss designer who has worked for Iittala for decades has for the moment a small display in the lobby.Written 16 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KalleHelsinkiHelsinki219 contributionsGalleria Sculptor, maintained by the association, is mainly focused on Finnish sculpture, but it also makes room for artists from the foreign countries and from the various different fields of art. On your way if you come from Silja Stockholm boats. The gallery provides also a permanent selection of works by finnish sculptors for sale.Written 4 July 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BeachStone2CHelsinki, Finland2,775 contributionsI'm not a big fan of art galleries but decided to stop by out of curiosity. Very interesting paintings and sculptures. Prices were in thousands so no ad-hoc purchases by me. Pretty small but cozy place, quite full of friendly people.Written 19 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland38,328 contributionsLocated in the splendid City Hall, the exhibition was titled Photography at Work. Three photographers display pieces that explore the nature of work today, in differing environments.

They have also not so well known artists. Great work!Written 1 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsUsing watercolours Kati Immonen paints leaves, twigs and flowers to cover the subject below making visible how easiy nature will take over anything man made. Her works done on museum glass have a special three dimensional depth. An animation shows just how many layers are needed for the finished painting.Written 2 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsOne of the galleries in the Old Church Park area is showing paintings from their permanent artists representing several techniques. Anna Tuori had an own exhibition recently from which some pictures remain, the large C-print by A.K.Dolven of two naked figures is from 2003 and sold now.Written 4 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsThe latest exhibition hung on the narrow walls of the gallery at the former mental hospital was called Metamorphosis. Future lies now open for the historical building with long corridors in a peacefull park by the sea. The plans to turn it into a high end tourist attraction with a new hotel were totally trashed by public opinion which the politicians couldn't ignore. While waiting for a better solution life will go on as before - there is a cozy cafe, an excess food restaurant, several individual workplaces and yet another cafeteria and a small excellent bakery in the Venice building nearby.Written 31 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsArtist Kirsti Tuokko paints her stunning portraits on the back side of plexiglass panels, it is a surprise even to her what they really look like on the shiny side when finished. The gallery has moved to more central Eerikinkatu into a red brick building with idyllic wooden houses in the courtyard.Written 24 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsThe vernissage of Teemu Korpela's Ghostly Inhabitations exhibition on January 4th shows a fast working artist as some of the pieces are already dated 2019. Besides painting the canvas elements of his works brightly he uses also beauty products to create, make up powder, soap and nail polish. This space next to the Radisson Seaside hotel operates as a cooperative producing also performances and discussions.Written 5 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,283 contributionsMany Finnish artists have produced colourfull works during the last depressing year. One of the brightest painters is Kari Walden showing a burst of blue, red and yellow at Bronda in March. This gallery was the first to relocate round the Old Church Park where three others can now be found.Written 2 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
