Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are several of these operators and even their buses look the same or similar. The casual observer would think they are the same. We tried to get on one and were told it was a different company. They directed us to a bus parked a few years away. We came on a cruise ship and used them to book the bus because the cruise gave us a small discount that made their service slightly cheaper than booking directly with the local company.
We read several horror stories about people missing the last bus back to the docks and almost missing the ship, so I was very careful about verifying the pick up spots and if we would make it back to the ship in time.
This paid off because the bus we were on skipped a huge number of scheduled stops just to get us back to the ship on time. We had less than an hour to spare.

We took this tour in September, two adults. Our guide was Leticia. We were surprised/pleased to find that we were the only two on the tour so we got private/personal treatment. The travel to Porvoo was on the bus and that was fine. Leticia our guide was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. She took us on the walking tour of Porvoo at our pace, stopping to give us information about the city, its history and all the relevant sites, as well as general information and insights about Finland and the people and language etc. We ate lunch at a place of our choosing and it was reasonably priced and delicious. We returned on the bus on time. Leticia was a fantastic guide and we were very happy with the tour. Porvoo is an interesting and quaint little city and we were pleased to visit.

We took this tour as we missed our connecting flight and so had to spend the evening at the airport hotel and wait for another flight the following evening. We booked quite late for a 11 am tour and the operator communicated very quickly via WhatsApp that only a 9am tour as available, which was fine by us.

We met the guide at the airport terminal tourist info desk and was taken to the city center on a small comfortable van. Our guide Mimi was great and knowledgeable about Helsinki history and culture. And we made various stops along the way and saw most of the main sites. Of course, there were strict time limits as to how long we could stay in each area.

Overall, a highly enjoyable 3-hour tour, which gave us a nice positive feeling after missing our connecting flight!

DO NOT BOOK this tour!! It is extremely overpriced! 305 Euros for myself, my husband, and my 8 year old. It was not even 2 hours and we only visited 3 places. As per the inclusions on the description we were to try different sausages and we were also supposed to be treated to champagne - neither of these happened. Instead we drank Prosecco - not a terrible alternative, but much cheaper than the champagne served at the restaurant. We never tried any sausage at all. We did try raw and smoked salmon and shrimp toast. My eight year old daughter does not eat fish, and there were no other alternatives offered. At the Kappelli restaurant, instead of a shrimp toast, I asked if instead she could have a croissant and this appeared to cause confusion with our tour guide who said the he ‘had to order shrimp toasts for everyone in our party according to the agreement with the company and the restaurant ‘. Finally after some lengthy dialogue, he ‘agreed’ to let her have a croissant. Our tour guide did not enlighten us with much Finland history (food history included), there was some, but not much....again considering the cost. He did cover a lengthy description of Finland’s recycling process...... He was a nice guy, but he should find another part-time gig (I’m sure this is not his full time job). Bottom line- I wish that I had my 300 Euro’s back. For a mere 30 Euro’s we could have all had something great to eat at the Old Market with some money left over for some chocolate or an ice cream.”

During the tour, Mehdi was saying so many interesting things that I was literally taking notes. I learned a lot and had a lovely time. We were a small group and it was easy to participate :)

I was in Helsinki, alone, for four days, in October 2018. I took this tour and I loved it. So, when I was in Helsinki with my wife, for a week in September 2019, we did this together. When I did this tour in 2018, the stop was at the Rock Church. When I did this with my wife in 2019, the stop was at the Sibelius Monument. I am really glad, because it is impossible to see the Rock Church properly in just about ten minutes, and I had to make a second trip later to see it properly!! Whereas the Sibelius monument can easily be seen in ten minutes, as the bus stops right next to it. So, one bit of advice, IF POSSIBLE, take the tour on a day when the stop is at the Sibelius monument. Phone in advance, or ask your hotel front desk to do it for you. This tour is free with the Helsinki Card. Be a few minutes early, and sit on top. You don't get much of a view from the lower deck! The audio guide is good. The starting point at Esplanade Park is a bit difficult to find, ask someone! Everyone in Helsinki speaks English, and everyone is so helpful and polite. So, don't be shy to ask!

Really confusing how’s there’s 2 “hop on” companies but they don’t take each other’s tickets!! We bought tickets on the overnight boat and then were not allowed on the two “hop on” buses that were waiting, and had to stand there for another 30 minutes for a bus that looked identical to the other two and was basically doing the same route. I would recommend not buying a ticket on the boat, buy it from whichever driver is actually ready to go.
Also, the sign is hidden in the tree. 😂
