Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ate here after taking the ferry over to Sveaborg. The market attendants tend to be a little aggressive, as it is a fairly big place with lots of vendors. We enjoyed a nice kebab meal and walked around. Desserts, souvenirs, fresh fish, etc.

I am a vegetarian (no meat, no fish) but unfortunately there was nothing much for me to eat here, except for some sweets and berries. I found some great fresh food in the nearby Old Market Hall, however.

Now know why this departmental store is the biggest in Northern Europe. Not that it’s the tallest but each floor is so vast and equipped with all the known brands. Amazing.

A buzzing square, flea market by the harbour. The outdoor stall vendors selling variety of souvenir items, reindeer fur, handicrafts , traditional food, fresh fruits & vegetables, coffee and snacks stalls and lots more to see and buy. There's a ferry connection to Suomenlinna Fortress island from the Market Square

Popular harbour area with markets aimed at tourists for souvenirs and food. Really enjoyed the busy vibe and some of the street food vendors. Can be hectic at key times but obviously a place to go. You also get all your boat trips to the nearby islands from here as well as ferries. The cruise ships are around the corner but you still see some big boats here. Nearby Ferris wheel and other attractions plus restaurants and cafes. There are also places to sunbathe and swimming pools in paid for segregated sections if you want. Seagulls hang around here but as long as you don’t encourage them they don’t pester you. A lot Helsinki’s main attractions are in walking distance so you can see the famous white cathedral over the harbour area buildings that makes for a great picture if coming into port from a boat trip.

Quite a central location. We discovered this as we had to take a bus to Seeurasaari Island.
The mall is located above the bus station and the metro station.
I was very impressed with the way the bus station is organised.
The mall has a huge variety of stores and eateries.
If you want to explore and shop for the mid range brands , this place is a great option and is well connected too.

Loved going in here to look at the displays of foods of all sorts. Good time of year as the summer harvest had started. We did not buy anything as we were in town for only one day, but great fun to see what was available.

After visiting the Stockman Department Store, I crossed the street and visited this Shopping Center. Initially! I thought it was a hotel, but when I saw some of its customers coming out of the store with shopping bags, I realized that it is another big store.

I briefly walked around and checked out their merchandises and prices. Did not buy anything here, having purchased stuffs that I needed at the Stockman Department Store.

Itis serves mainly the population living in the vast eastern suburbs who will find everything they need from Stockmann department store to Suomalainen bookstore and all the international chain stores selling clothes. With the opening of the new cinema the restaurant selection has grown even wider offering food from all corners of Asia. The most elegant cafe Fazer, by the famous Finnish chocolate brand is in the middle of the boulevard brightly alight and well sheltered from busy shoppers.

What a nice respite from the cold, rainy weather during a day-trip to Helsinki. We enjoyed a cafe and made purchases at some of the shops. A very pleasant way to fill the last hour or so of our day.

A massive mall on top of the train station, outside is the trams and taxis. An array of shops and places to eat in the mall over several floors

As I walked various areas of Helsinki, that this company has branches closer to each other. I briefly visited the m and noted their beautiful products. I was tempted many times some of the products that I liked.

Since I shall be travelling to several more countries after Finland, shopping and dragging a heavy suitcase is out of the question. So sorry Marimekko!

Visited on a Tuesday morning and I felt I was the only one there (except the staff). I have never been the only person in the foodcourt before!

Though situated at the edge of the Design District facing the Agricola Church the private fleamarket has gained popularity during recent times.
The basic selection upstairs consists of everyday clothing, bags, jewellery and tableware items. Downstairs through the narrow staircase is a different world with exquisite antique furniture, interior design and miscellaneous bric-a-brac.

Every Finn has held a piece of Arabia tableware in hand at some point of their life. The factory took the historical name of the location when it was established already in 1874. Over the years the brand has stood for quality both in design and production remaining the obvious choice for a new home. Now the vintage pieces from 1950's to 1980's are so sought after that they are sold even in Arabia shops. The rich archives present endless material for new reproductions as well.
