Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a stunningly beautiful park in the inner city with creeks and bridges over them. There's a playground, an ice-cream truck and even a greenhouse.

It's a nice interactive museum with exhibitions about physics, life in Finland, games, etc. There are simulators, optical illusions and there's a 3D cinema.

Rosa and Jenni at Oulu Tourist Info Office were BRILLIANT!! They went far beyond the usual just suggesting brochures for my travels in Oulu & Finland, to making phone calls to several organisations for me (I don’t speak Finnish) and checking/finding the many details I needed for my long adventures on public transport. They answered all of my many questions with smiles and laughter and even included some help on how to pronounce the Finnish ‘RRRR’! :-) A 100% excellent service. :-)

I really liked this- it was quite different to the layouts of other typical european churches- the aisles are wider and the interior is white and light. It is well worth going inside.

We saw only inside part due to winter. It's a very nice botanical garden - plenty of unusual and beautiful plants, many of them with flowers. Was a delight to watch it in winter because I was missing green plants and flowers.
Everything is nicely arranged and well cared for.

This public urban park is located in the delta of the River Oulu. The area was built as a public park already in the 1860s.

Small brooks and waterways divide the park area into smaller and larger islands. Old charming wooden bridges are connecting them.

The greenhouses used by the University of Oulu Botanical Gardens are today used by the environment department of the city. A cafe is located in one of the greenhouses. A central playground and a rose garden are located next to the greenhouses.

From the Hupisaaret islands, you can also find the Northern Ostrobothnian museum, the Oulu Museum Of Art, the architecturally impressive summer theater pavilion, and the Merikoski fishway built along the River Oulujoki.

Good market hall but not many stands were open unfortunately. We had a browse, bought some reindeer salami and had some salmon soup which was very good (12.50 Euro)

Nallikari is located fairly close to Oulu center. The beach is large and you may have to walk quite some time in order to get to deep water. High recommendation

This is at 74 Torikatu not too far from the Tourist information office. It was built in 1957 and is south of the city centre

The museum is located in the Ainola park. We did not have high expectations when we entered the museum and were pleasantly surprised by the exhibition. The museum is quite big and the different sections of the museum give you a very good picture of life in Oulu region. Highly recommended. Nice but quite small collection of cars and motorcycles. On the other hand also price was under ten euros. There was huge truck which was unique and used in hydroelectric power-plant construction sites. There is nice cafe in same building which offers very good lunch also.

It was good with lots of information- quite a lot of it is also in English. The museum is quite dated as evident from the display of old coins that refer to Finland about to join the Euro. The layout is a little odd with no clear order. It is worth a visit and is reasonably priced for what you get. The lady on the reception was extremely nice and helpful.

This small photography gallery is part of the Cultural Centre Valve located in the city center.

The exhibitions are changing often. This time there was an exhibition called 'Whose nature?'. It showcased nature photography in an interesting way.

    The entrance is always free.
