We had a very impressive visit at the farm, learned a lot about reindeers and their farmers life. After a short ride with a reindeer sleigh we got the reindeer driver’s licence for the next 5 years.

I can't speak highly enough of this experience, we visited a week before Christmas and had to book as soon as the tickets were made available the prior March. We booked the option with transport so had a private taxi collect us from our hotel, really comfortable for the 30 minute journey.
When we arrived we were greeted by Elf Erin which was coincidently was the same name as my eldest daughter, who's face lit up at this! My youngest daughter ran straight up to Elf Erin and gave her a hug which is not something typically in her nature!

Elf Erin then explained that we would do some tobogganing first by the frozen lake, which the kids absolutely loved. We also got to take photos on the snow sofa and by the giant snowman. Following this as a group we walked up to a hut heated by a roasting open fire where we were given sausages (veggie Burgers were an option) and warm Berry juice.

The Elves then said it was time to walk up to Santa's Cottage to meet him, all of the kids couldn't control their excitement. Once we got inside the cottage in the hallway and all the kids were ready the Elves let them look through the keyhole one by one and they were all able to see Santa and Mrs Claus before they opened the door and we all went in.

The kids all sat in front of Santa on the rug while he told them stories about his life and times, they then got to sit with him one at a time and have photos taken. Following this they baked gingerbread and cookies before we had a chance to get some hot drinks and cookies before looking round the gift shop.

We finished up by singing a traditional Finnish song with Santa and the children all went up to receive a present and get another photo with the big guy (I even spotted a famous face on the wall who had also had his photo taken with Santa), At the end we said goodbye to Santa, Mrs Claus and all the Elves before jumping into our taxi for our short journey home.

Ultimately I have to say this was one of the most magical experiences I will ever get to experience, seeing the children's faces light up when they meet the 'real' Santa in his cottage is something I will always remember and I'm sure my daughters will talk about it for the rest of their days. The team do such a good job of making it special and so realistic, definitely a bucket list item and I would highly recommend any one to go if you are fortunate enough to get the experience (after all the GOAT can't be wrong!)

We were visiting Lapland the week leading up to Christmas, we had already done the Santa visit and had finished up at the Husky Ride and it was our last afternoon.

We were all disappointed we had gone to Lapland and not seen a Reindeer, as we had just found out they are all farmed and owned in Finland and none roam free. So we gave Kujala Reindeer Farm a call to see if they could squeeze us in on a tour that afternoon, which, fortunately, they said they could.

We arrived a bit early for our tour and had hot chocolates in the cafe while we waited, the weather came in a bit, reduced visibility and the temperature dropped too.

The tour was great, we were walked along the track by a guide and a Reindeer called Wizard. At the end of the track we reached a field full of Reindeer, there must have been about 300-400. Tip: don't ask how many, I made that mistake and it is considered rude - equivalent to asking how much money they have.

Before we went into the field we were given specific instructions by our guide on how to feed the Reindeer with lichen and also safety items. Going into the field was amazing, you get swarmed by the Reindeer but they are very friendly (assuming you have food for them!)

We spent about 20 minutes in the field feeding the Reindeer before it the wind picked up and it started getting a bit cold, the group unanimously decided to go back. The kids loved the experience and really glad Kujala made the effort to accommodate us last minute as we would have been disappointed had we left Lapland without getting the opportunity to do this experience.
