Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Tyler BTring, UK306 contributionsWe were staying in the Santa Claus Village but ventured into Rovaniemi to pick up our rented winter gear so decided to spend the morning in the city centre. The winter garden area outside the museum itself is well worth a visit with views over a frozen lake. The museum itself is good, if a little pricey.Written 21 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jules BOrmskirk, UK225 contributionsWe took a drive down from Rovaniemi which took just over an hour. Easy to find.
We only saw two other couples on the entire 3.5km trail - if was a cold day with snow around which perhaps puts the locals off visiting. The cafe was closed.
The trail is very well marked and once you are away from the force of the dam and former log chute, there are literally no sounds other than nature to disturb.
An inquisitive reindeer followed us for a while but given it was winter the rest of nature was keeping warm elsewhere.
There are a few steps up and down and as it was slippery underfoot we covered the route in a steady 2.5 hours.
A lovely way to take in the fresh air and see some of Finland’s natural beauty.Written 13 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Hidden spot but worth to walk there even if it’s cold!Written 8 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RiShaLondon, UK405 contributionsCame here recently with friends. A quirky attraction, but really fun to visit! Photo opportunities, a zip line, and lots of snow when we went made for a nice time.Written 15 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Malav SAhmedabad, India77 contributionsnice old church there are as such not much sight seeing places in Rovaniemi so its good if you visit this placeWritten 10 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RiddykinOulu, Finland83 contributionsFirstly I have to say the centre is quite small. That surprised us at first. But when you enter the exhibition you realise the interactivness is the key to a great visit. Every little detail is well thought through. You get to experience the Northern forests with all senses! Our family had a great few hours touching, smelling, feeling and learning - also singing karaoke and getting lost in the woods. 😄 The staff here is super: do ask them for guidance. Also the Pilke shop is a good spot to scout for souvenirs.Written 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tyler BTring, UK306 contributionsWe visited the city centre from the Santa Claus Village to pick up some winter clothes that we were renting, so we decided to spend the morning in Rovaniemi. There really isn't much to do here but visit the Arkitrum museum and take in the views of the Lumberjack Candle Bridge. Is it good? Sure. It's an impressive bridge, and it's worth a photo. I'm not sure what else to tell you about it.Written 21 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hunter1107Tiverton, RI130 contributionsIf you are in the area, this was the best museum of the three we visited! Well laid out, local art, and interesting to see stuff from the area.Written 18 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mikael FHelsinki, Finland30,549 contributionsThis library was completed in 1965.
It is one of the many libraries designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto who also designed the Lappia House (Rovaniemi Theater) next to the library.
All of his libraries are known for the spacious library hall, book recesses, and skylights.
In addition to books, you can always find a small art exhibition at this library.Written 13 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The dealings between Finland, Germany and Russia are the backdrop to the existence of this memorial/cemetery and an important part of the recent history of the area.Written 22 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tyler BTring, UK306 contributionsWe visited Rovaniemi city centre from Santa Claus Village to collect from rented winter clothes. While we were there we decided to spend some time and visited Lordi's Square. It's a square. It has some shops. That's all we have to say. It actually turned out useful as our son had a fingernail infection and the pharmacy there were very helpful. But, yeah.Written 21 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DavvebieggaGermany152 contributionsI stayed in Rovaniemi for over a week and took the bus from the center to visit the Forest Museum in Pöykkölä. It's an interesting open air museum with a lot of buildings, boats and machines. It tells you a lot about the logging history in Finland.Written 24 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - juno_usaNashville, TN191 contributionsThe formations are interesting and the place is only 20-25 minutes from Rovaniemi centre by car so worth a visit if you have time. Do not expect much, only several churns and rocks, we spent there just 10-15 minutes and that is all. Toilets, hut and a bench was available nearby.Written 28 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lostsoul92South Australia, Australia40 contributionsA great way to travel from helsinki into lapland! We took the late train to rovaniemi and loved waking up to the beautiful snow covered trees. Didn't try the in room shower but seemed pretty roomy. Didn't try the food either. However the beds were super comfy and we slept all night whilst being rocked by the train. Only downside is the beds are permanent, they don't fold into seats, so awkward for just sitting, not enough head room. Highly recommend instead of flying!Written 19 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
