This was a fun experience! Apukka picked us up in Santa's Village and brought us a few kilometers down the road to their resort. When we arrived a bunch of different tours were getting ready to depart so it was a bit chaotic, as everyone was inside getting warm boots and coveralls and trying to figure out where they were supposed to go. Once we were all dressed warmly, we waited outside by the "Husky" sign and our tour guide walked us across the street to where the huskies were. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 12 and 9) and they put us on 2 separate sleds (they said we could all go on 1 or we could split up into 2). The adults stood on the back of the sleds to control the brakes and the kids rode inside the sleds. We followed the guide (who was on a snowmobile) and were on the sleds around 30-45 minutes around a large frozen lake. We stopped halfway through to take photos. When we returned to the farm, we played with the dogs on our sled and then we sat around a fire for warm berry juice and cookies. Then we went to see the puppies - I wish we could've played with them too, but they were in a fenced in enclosure. We walked back to the resort and expected that they would bring us back to the hotel right away, but we had to wait 45 minutes for the snowmobile tour to end before the shuttle brought us back. It was dark, cold, and snowing, so waiting that 45 minutes at the end was a bummer! Overall, though, it was a fun experience that everyone enjoyed, but it lacked a certain authenticity, as it felt highly catered toward tourists.
