Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a drive down from Rovaniemi which took just over an hour. Easy to find.

We only saw two other couples on the entire 3.5km trail - if was a cold day with snow around which perhaps puts the locals off visiting. The cafe was closed.

The trail is very well marked and once you are away from the force of the dam and former log chute, there are literally no sounds other than nature to disturb.

An inquisitive reindeer followed us for a while but given it was winter the rest of nature was keeping warm elsewhere.

There are a few steps up and down and as it was slippery underfoot we covered the route in a steady 2.5 hours.

A lovely way to take in the fresh air and see some of Finland’s natural beauty.

Such a wonderful resort! We always wanted to try snowboarding so booked daily lessons with the resort. Our coach, Tilda was absolutely amazing and is a wonderful teacher - I cannot wait to see her again one day! I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the resort (compared to other Alpine, etc. resorts where it is all a bit too much of everything) - everyone was very welcoming and friendly! Susanna - our final day coach was also great and was amazing at guiding me at the next level slope! I honestly cannot wait to go back! Thank you for such an amazing time!

Amazing and very impressive view over Finland and rovaniemi if you have a sunny day. Hidden spot but worth to walk there even if it’s cold!

Came here recently with friends. A quirky attraction, but really fun to visit! Photo opportunities, a zip line, and lots of snow when we went made for a nice time.

Families with kids must visit this place. You get to feed and tap reindeers, alpacas and other animals. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Was well worth it though, and the service was excellent in every way. Would go again if in the area.

The formations are interesting and the place is only 20-25 minutes from Rovaniemi centre by car so worth a visit if you have time. Do not expect much, only several churns and rocks, we spent there just 10-15 minutes and that is all. Toilets, hut and a bench was available nearby.

We took the Pyha Express gondola to the top of the mountain and followed the snow shoe walking route back down. The views from the top are amazing. Took about an hour to walk down, with lots of photo stops. We had snow shoes and full thermal gear.

We parked at Santa Sport in Rovaniemi and crossed the road to pick up this beautiful and well marked trail. It was a glorious sunny but cold day and the snow was plentiful, a real winter wonderland. The trail winds through the forest, passes a ski area, passes a wooden observation tower that offers lovely views and passes the odd lean-to and campfire site. The entire trail is about 6km long, but it is well groomed and an easy walk. It is a beautiful area, just so pretty under snow and so close to town, a great way to stretch your legs and enjoy nature.

The bank of the Ounasvaara Hill offers a beach with views of the city center.

Next to the beach is a small park and a camping site.

I don't know how cold the water was but there were children swimming.

The water is very flowing here and the safe area is narrow.
